i should be like tunney and put people on ignore so they can't respond.
I may not always agree with Tunney but he makes alot of good valid points & he is entitled to his opinion like anyone else.I'm not going to put my profile on ignore...I actually enjoy reading hatemail from other posters.I do admit sometimes people go too far with the race/sexist stuff but otherwise I don't care what people write.

...This is why Arreola and US TV networks shouldn't be focusing on the K brothers. They are utterly unwatchable. A two fight home-and-home between Haye and Arreola, both broadcast on non-PPV HBO, is the best contract out there to generate US revenue and long lost mainstream interest in the HW division.

I don't like reading only 151000 viewers it's not good for boxing in north America.it's doing well in Germany but I wish all the top heavyweights WORLDWIDE would fight each other.

This fight was picked up only a couple of days before only to be shown on an obscure channel. I'm a Wlad fan and didn't even know the fight was going to be aired until 2 days before the fight (I was going to watch it online like I do most PPV's) and I only knew because I read it here. My brother who's a huge Wlad fan didn't even know the fight was on because he doesn't go on the internet.

Boxing is on the verge of becoming irrelevant in America! They lack talent to compete with Europeans and have few sophisticated fans who can appreciate all aspects of boxing, not just slugging. The future of boxing is going to be in Europe where all the champions reside and fans actually show up and tune in for fights and appreciate the different skill sets boxers have. In a few years any talented American boxer who wants a big payday or championship will have to travel to Europe to get it since it's becoming the Mecca of boxing.

In north America if you can gaurentee on a Saturday night someone is going to get killed you would have an absolute sellout! European fans & American fans are different.Europeans like finess better than power.it's like that in hockey too.Europeans skate around you while north Americans skate through you.I'd rather skate through you myself just like I like a good back & forth slugfest not a chess match.

Ratings Dismal Beyond Dismal for Klitschko-Chagaev on ESPN Classics by John Chavez

Jun 25, 2009 - "Wow!" is all I have to say regarding the ratings for Wladimir Klitschko's recent heavyweight title fight against Ruslan Chagaev.

How far the big men have fallen in terms of popularity within the United States of America. There once was a time when the big boys were kings amongst the rest and drew the highest ratings in all of boxing. Apparently, just like everything else in this world, these are changing and the United States consumer demands more... more than what the current crop of heavyweight pretenders have to offer.

While Klitschko-Chagaev seemingly did an enormous number in terms of television ratings in Germany (rumors of 11 million viewers), the number here in the states is as follows according to Nielsen Media:

ESPN Classics - Wladimir Klistchko vs. Ruslah Chagaev - 2pm PST - 151,000 Total Average Viewers

All I know is that I sure hope ESPN didn't shell out any significant fee to broadcast this embarrassing display of heavyweight boxing.

With programming that only draws 151,000 viewers, it's no wonder that boxing is no longer broadcasted over the major television networks. Being that Wladimir Klistchko might be one of the most boring champions of recent times, it's probably a good thing for boxing that the masses aren't exposed to his style of fighting.

You figure out what that number means...

I have more fun watching paint dry than i do watching a klit fight. People in america don't like giant ******* that look like they are petrified in the ring and fight with fear more than aggression. NOthing more exciting than seeing a giant towering over their opponent jab jab jab jab jab jab.

Maybe a lot of people who tuned in thought their TV had frozen and switched off and reported the fault.
I would suggest that if they wish to increase the ratings for Wlads next fight they do not show the highlights of that one.
