I think the deeper issue is that, after Zab lost to Baldomir, Floyd was basically calling him a joke who got lucky. And was using the "Zab wasn't focused, we know he's better than that" excuse to explain why he chose to fight Zab. Fine, I understand he wanted the money. But then to fight Baldomir next? Was the KO over Gatti that impressive, Floyd? Really?

Well I'm not sure it was Arum. Don King controlled the other fighters - no way he was putting them in against a guy he knew would beat his guys, especially when the guy's promoter is Arum.

I don't buy that ****. Mr boat buyer said flat out Marg would get his shot. he lost, but redeemed himself wit 2 title wins by KO. The timin was perfect cuz Marg upped his Terminator image wit the Cintron and Cotto KO's. The story was there cuz of the whole face to face call out/duckin/most feared thing. And the circumstances were right cuz DLH wasn't budgin on the rematch $, and it wouldn't have been near as big as the 1st fight, cuz it was disappointin as **** and nobody cared to see it. Mr boat buyer didn't want it homey, even tho many if not most, includin me, woulda picked him to win.

Now that I think of it HBO probably wouldn't have passed on a Margarito fight...

Baldomir had jus won a big fight on their network and was being held in high regards

Margarito wasn't an HBO man...they probably would have asked Floyd why would you fight Margarito?

Margarito was on HBO as well. Did you forget how HBO announcers were ridiculing Floyd for not fighting him?

Even if Oscar didn't budge a rematch would have made more $ than a fight wit Margarito. Nobody's a bigger draw than Oscar...

A fight wit Margarito would have made sense then but no one was demanding it anymore...and then Margarito loses his belt again...

I think for the right money it could have happened homey. When Floyd said he was taking a break I guess he meant it. The Money from a Oscar fight would make anyone think twice. When that could not happen he went back to taking his break.

The $8 million offer was put out there but it also included a contract extension that Floyd had to sign with Top Rank. Floyd made the same amount with Baldomir and it was leading to an Oscar fight which wouldn't have happened with Arum because at the time he was feuding with GBP and Oscar. Floyd made way more this way. Smart business decision.

What fight was that? If it was the Clottey that's pretty dumb on their part since Floyd had a fight with Baldomir coming up who HBO hyped the **** out of...

When it all comes down to it, I think Floyd doesn't wanna do business with Bob Arum...
