Judah weighed in at 145 when he fought Cotto at WW.
Will you give Manny full credit if he beats Cotto @ 145 for the ww belt?

I dont however like how the 147 lb belt is at stake since they are fighting at a catchweight..
Pavlik didnt put up his vs Hopkins..something to think about.
And yes i voted that this is a bonafied fight.100% credit to the winner.Comment

I'll give Pac credit if he beats Cotto @ 145, and if he beats Mayweather @ 144-45 but i would expect him to face Mosley @ 147. that is ofcourse if he dominates. there shouldn't be any reson to fear 147.
but i'm taking Cotto. and I'll take Cotto against Mayweather. hopefully Pac VS JMM III can happen.Comment

I think both guys are exceptional fighters and no matter who wins this fight it goes down in the record books as a win. Years from now no one will care if it was at 147lbs or 145lbs. All that matters is that two true warriors entered the ring and one walked away with a victory, this fight is truely a great matchup and I for one feel that it will be a priviledge to watch this fight because it's one of real intensity and both guys come forward ready and willing to put themselves through hell in order to win. They will have people talking about it long after it's done with. I have followed both of these guys for several years and I wont be surprised if this becomes a bloody mess because both guys are prone to cuts. These two guys are truly two real champions that have faced all the opposition that no other fighter has tried to face. They never shy away from fights and always took on the best in their divisions. What else can we ask from these two guys? I wish them both well and when the dust settles may there be a definitive answer on who the best fighter is on Nov. 14th.Comment

Just curious though, how can you call it a welterweight title fight, if the limit has been reduced from 147?Comment

I'm not sure if you box but weights are always deteremined on contract time. I used to train with many professional fighters in Savannah Ga and they didn't always come in on the limits of each division. It all depends on what the contract calls for. You can look at Boxrec and see that first hand when you look at someone's fight record and what weight class they were in. You will see a lot of fighters fighting at weights that are not the same as the weight class they fought for. Very common in boxing.Comment

I don't think you understood my question.
How can it be called a welterweight title fight, if its not at the welterweight limit?
Limiting one fighter to a certain weight certainly isn't within the realm of the weight division.Comment

I see what you saying but like I said it all depends on the managers and contracts. It's a welterweight fight because they are fighting above junior welterweight and below junior middleweight. That's why it's a welterweight fight. There isn't a class name for 145lbs if you want to be technical about it or should we start naming every pound in every division by another name? That wouldn't make sense at all. So yes this is a welterweight fight.Comment
