What happened when Gatti got into the ring with someone who had boxing ability? He got his ass whipped.

Christ, Ivan Robinson outboxed him... twice. So did underachieving Angel Manfredy.

Plus, you have to understand that calling fighters terrible who aren't actually terrible in the purest sense of the word is a necessary evil, because if you call fighters like Gatti good, what do you call fighters like Robinson, De La Hoya or Mayweather. Good to the nth degree? It's just something we have to do to differentiate one from another effectively.
He also lost to Robinson and Manfredy when he was already on the slide, but that is besides the point. You do not win even paper titles multiple times without skill. Robinson or Manfredy never achieved half as much as Gatti over the course of their careers.

So you like the pure boxer. That is fine and dandy. I prefer all aspects of the sport. Don't think for a second though that Desire, Punching Power, Determination, Stamina and Heart are not skills. There are so many intangibles and "skills" are not only trained, but they vary from fighter to fighter and are honed to sharpen the natural abilities that they were born with.

I don't like pure boxers exclusively. I'm not one of those limited boxing fans who only finds skill in those who jab and move... because it takes skill to do what Barrera/Morales and Vazquez/Marquez do.

I think there is a difference between being able to beat someone based on superior craft (regardless of what style that comes out of) rather than having a chin and heart that allow someone to finally land a wild looping hook that puts them way off balance and easy to counter if they miss.

I have respect for all fighters, but I refuse to degrade those who has real boxing skill by putting them in the same category as fighters like Gatti and Ward.

Boxing Skill is not the only skill. They were born with natural speed and reflexes that were honed. Call them abilities. Other fighters were not born with those attributes, but were born with toughness, determination, blood thirst and iron will. They also get honed for those abilities just like the pure boxer.

Both are to be respected for what they are. Pascal has skills whether you like them or not. Dianconu has skills whether you like them or not. Froch has skills whether you like them or not. Ward and Gatti does also.

He seriously thinks he is RJJ, but... as it turned out, RJJ was never stunned by terrible journeymen like Pittman.
Stop talking **** about Pascal because he is one of the most exciting fighters out there right now. He got rocked by Pittman, ok he also took everything Froch could throw at him for 12 rounds and kept coming forward and he even rocked Froch. In a rematch Pascal takes Froch. Pascal is gonna destroy Branco in his mandatory and i bet Pascal beats Dawson if that fight ever happens.

            Based on what?

Dawson kills Pascal and so does Johnson.

Pascal beat a tough but limited fighter in Diaconu and probably would've outpointed Froch if he'd been more active in the 2nd half of that fight, but Froch is limited as well in that he stands right in front of you looking to take your head off (like Diaconu).

Dawson and Johnson are both too skilled for Pascal in all his carelessness. They wouldn't take half the punishment Diaconu took and are able to pick Pascal apart.

He might beat Froch in a rematch... with someone who thinks he is RJJ, it's sad that he needs a rematch to get the win over someone as ordinary as Froch.

I guess taking what Froch has gives him a pass for a terrible style that allowed him to get rocked by Pittman? I'm sure that'll keep him safe from getting knocked out when he continues to make the same ****** mistake of jumping in with no punches or defense on the way in.

And yes, he's going to destroy Branco... probably because he's not even close to elite.

at the notion that Pascal beats Dawson.

Enjoy the ride on the hype train... I'll be there to laugh at you when it derails.
