Sorry man, I just can't see it.............

BTW, you are severely underestimating Clottey. IMO Clottey would give Shane all he wants and then some.
First, Shane lost a very close decision, that myself and many others believe he deserved. Second, none of that is relevant after Mosley stopped than man that stopped Cotto.

Yes, Cotto beat shane, what happened AFTER that?

Cotto got Battered and KTFO by Margarito, took FIVE rounds to Ko the bum Jennings, and won a VERY controvesial decision to Clottey (a guy i like and respect btw)

Mosley Ko'd Mayagora in a great fight then battered the man who DESTROYED Cotto, Margarito.

And let's not forget here Mosley-Cotto was hardly a shutout was it.

I'm not critisizing Cotto, but claiming he is more deserving because he sc****d past mosley a while back is pretty short sighted.

Bob Arum is not matching in house in the interest of creating the best possible fight, nor is he matching in house to keep his fighter busy, he is matching in house because Miguel Cotto is vulnerable, and he is not willing to risk having Cotto lose in a fight where he has to split the promotional revenue.

This simple truth of the matter is this.

Shane deserves a Manny fight more than Miguel does, but neither deserves it as much as Juan Manuel Marquez does.
          2 problems with your analysis:

          1. Bob Arum is only doing what every other promoter in the world does (Shane's partners included). It's not Bob's job to save the world. I have been saying since the Hatton fight that Pac-Cotto was next , no matter what. IMO Bob needed to throw Cotto a payday to keep him with Top Rank, and its only a matter of time before Pac loses or retires anyway. This is win-win for Bob, no matter who wins, and Bob owes NOTHING to Shane. And if Pac were with GBP instead of Top Rank, I'd bet my house that either Shane or JMM, or some other GBP fighter would get the fight, and maybe Cotto would be the one making speeches right now instead of Shane.

It's like this. If ANY promoter can make a credible fight 100% in-house, they do it. Now if Bob was making Pac vs. Lamont Peterson or something, you might have a point. But Pac-Cotto is every bit as credible as Pac-Shane.

And for the record, I'm against BOTH fights because I hate titles being on the line in these bull**** catchweight fights.

          2. JMM was not a viable option even if Top Rank wanted to make that fight because JMM signed the Mayweather contract the day before Pac-Hatton, taking himself out of the discussion.

I dont know how the fact that Shane went life and death with the clown Mayorga before getting a fight-saving 12th rd knockout helps your argument. (had Mayorga won the 12th the fight would have been scored a draw)

And Cotto beating Shane trumps Shane beating Margo who beat Cotto.
The head to head result is always more relevant than triangle scenarios.

No, with the Mayweather "injury", Marquez has every opportunity to back out of the Mayweather fight in favor of Pacman.

Unless you've read their bout agreement, you dont know that to be true. Most bout agreements have "postponement" clauses that allow bouts to be rescheduled within a set period of time. They are usually anywhere from 60 to 120 days, depending on what the promoter puts in there. (King puts in 180 days. lol)

When I review Nate's contracts, I always change that to 30 days (just so we have the option of moving on in situations like this), but it's usually buried in the "fine print" and not everybody bothers to change it.

You are wrong. If two fighters fight for all intents and purposes, a DRAW, then one fighter gets knocked out by superman, then the other fighter knocks out superman, who is going to be more highly rated?

Obviously the man who knocked out superman.

                  Mosley knocked out Margarito.
Cotto got knocked out by Margarito.
                  Mosley and Cotto Drew.

Mosley is more deserving. You can try and bull**** your way around that fact how ever you want, but its the truth... You know it... I know it... Mosley knows it... Arum knows it...

There is always room for maneuvering. Marquez could be talking with Arum, "injure" himself, and place his time for recovery outside the period of the contract.

Its easily feasibly for Marquez to maneuver himself into a position to fight Pacquiao if Arum is willing to play ball.

You are not being objective. Shane can beat Marg, Clottey, Paul Williams, Pavlik, both Klitschko's, godzilla and king kong, and it doesnt change the fact that he LOST to Cotto.

Shouldnt Shane be trying to straighten that loss to Cotto rather than trying to thief Cotto's opponent?

Besides, wouldn't Cotto-Mosley 2 be more credible than Pac against either guy? (it would be to me)
