listen, any and every fighter is gonna get his ass whupped if hes not in shape to fight. DLH wasnt in shape to fight. you could probably find 10 wleterweights that wouldve knocked his ass out that night. i think pacman wouldve beaten him even if he wasnt drained, but thats not the case. if u ever fought yourself u would know how it is fighting or even just sparring out of shape. there is no worse condition than being drained. its like being sick, like getting in the ring and fight after spending 5 days in bed with a high fever. there is no way u can be competetive, no way in hell. DLH fought the scale and won, but he had nothing left for the acctual fight and pacman beat a shell of a fighter. like it or not thats the truth.
DRAINED BS is OVERRated

this weight drained **** is out of control. I dont remember hearing this from anyone till the dela hoya fight. Dela hoya and Nacho said himself Oscar was in good shape, but Manny just beat his ass. Cotto losing 2-3 lbs isnt going to kill him like you experts want to believe.
Id give being weight drained a little more credibility if they didnt have an entire day to rehydrate and eat. Same day weigh ins are brutal, this is what happens in amateur wrestling . A wrestler would have to weigh in, a few hours later he's in a match. He can eat and drink whatever he wants but in an hour or two later he's in a match, without having time to recuperate.
Boxers have an entire day to replenish themselves. Right after weigh in they probably pig out, and also have an entire night to recover. The next day could start out with a huge breakfast. I think after 18 hours the fighter would be at 100% considering his health and training. Why 2 or 3lbs is the end of the world to some of you I'll never know.Comment

Well
a few years ago. The guy moving up usually is the one at a disadvantage.
Pac has 1 fight at 135, 1 at 147 and 1 at 140.
Thats 3 fights out of 54 total fights. and the fight is at 144 againts a welterweight.Last edited by miron_lang; 06-19-2009, 07:29 AM.Comment

So, you would rather see Pacman go up 19 pounds more when he just moved 5 pounds north a fight ago to give him full credit for his win against Oscar? You're basically asking Pacman to go 24 pounds up to match Floyd's defeat over Oscar?Comment
