To be honest right now Shane needs to fight, whether it is against Clottey who does not deserve a shot at another title right now, or Berto who brings no money into the picture, he needs to stay active.

I had it 114-113 Clottey, despite Clottey being a ***** and milking it when he got judo throwed and lightly rabbit punched in desperation for a point deduction. That was chicken ****. Aside from that Clottey won that fight, albeit a VERY close fight. Cotto is lucky that fight was in in NYC, and showed tremendous heart in fighting through that terrible cut. All in all a good showing by both fighters, but as I always say, knock them out if you want a win. Clottey didn't even put Miguel on his ass once. So take that for what you will...

Lets put it in the perspective.Say cotto was the one losing his crown that night against mosley,no way after 12 rounds with cotto would shane give him a rematch.PUT IT THIS WAY MATTER OF FACT....Had shane beaten cotto that night he WOULD BE SIGNING PAPERS RIGHT THIS VERY MOMENT FOR NOVEMBER.

See how much of a favor can boxing do with ONE lost?
You don't know whether or not Mosley would have given Cotto a rematch for sure. I don't think he would've either, but it would have been more understandable on his part because he is in the twilight of his career and there would have been bigger fish to fry. Like Mayweather for example. At least Shane had the intention of pursuing a fight with him unlike Cotto did.

U call Berto a big threat, especially to Mosely, no Berto would be knocked out by Mosely, trust me.

Berto's blue crab grabbing-self didn't prove much his last fight to be a top WW.And i gave collazo the edge when they fought. You got to win against genuine opponents convicingly when your taking baby steps to the WW throne.

It's ok to come razor thin close with established WW's.Thats what makes the mix so good for years AKA drama at the welter house. But with the likes of floyd, cotto, shane he's not ready for just yet..

I heard a poster above on this page ask why Cotto should have to rematch Shane Mosley and that is a very ****** question. Mosley gave Cotto the shot he deserved, and now the favor needs to be returned. At least eventually it does, if Cotto can get that far if he decides to fight someone else like Pacquiao obviously.
cotto gave mosley the shot mosley deserved. cotto was the wba champion at the time when he gave mosley a shot at his title. yea cotto should rematch mosley but mosley wants pac or floyd, he didnt want cotto. so know cotto's in a position were he can fight who he chooses.

I don't buy this notion that Cotto showed a lot of heart in that fight. There were instances of where Arturo Gatti's face would be ready to fall off and he didn't run like Cotto did. Rocky Marciano's cut on his nose against Walcott comes to mind too. And did Paul Williams put on track shoes after he was cut againt Verno Phillips? His cut was just as bad as Cotto's. I give Cotto credit for not quitting and letting it go to the cards, but that's where it ends. I don't listen to these blow hards like Dan Rafael. I remember of where Cotto was cut against Oktay Urkal and he fought aggressively because it was a limited opponent where power is concerned. Clottey is not a hard puncher either, but he has more pop than Urkal. Cotto fought in a scared fashion againt Clottey because he knew his limitations, and he knew what the opponent was capable of. Clottey would have punished Cotto if it wasn't for that paint job on the canvass in my view. It would cause Clottey's punches to be off the mark against a running target.
