Originally posted by Iceta View PostI don't buy this notion that Cotto showed a lot of heart in that fight. There were instances of where Arturo Gatti's face would be ready to fall off and he didn't run like Cotto did. Rocky Marciano's cut on his nose against Walcott comes to mind too. And did Paul Williams put on track shoes after he was cut againt Verno Phillips? His cut was just as bad as Cotto's. I give Cotto credit for not quitting and letting it go to the cards, but that's where it ends. I don't listen to these blow hards like Dan Rafael. I remember of where Cotto was cut against Oktay Urkal and he fought aggressively because it was a limited opponent where power is concerned. Clottey is not a hard puncher either, but he has more pop than Urkal. Cotto fought in a scared fashion againt Clottey because he knew his limitations, and he knew what the opponent was capable of. Clottey would have punished Cotto if it wasn't for that paint job on the canvass in my view. It would cause Clottey's punches to be off the mark against a running target.

what will berto bring to the table that clottey cant, imo a semi easy win. **** make this fight happen clottey/mosley would be some serious war. josh already been saying mosley dont want to fight him. now that arum is putting it out on blast lets see if they can lure mosley out to save face.

Like Mayweather for example. At least Shane had the intention of pursuing a fight with him unlike Cotto did.
I beleive later down the road they will possibly meet IF mosley doesnt make a mistake of running into the wrong opponent and losing credibility with another "0".
As if with the easy soft spoken guy inside and out of the ring, cotto barely calls out any opponents. They line fighters in front of him like a marching band and they lose one way or another. And if i can remember from mayweather's last fight before "retirement" they interviewed him after the fight and was asked about cotto.I thought the guy was gonna have a panic attack trying to avoid the question.
But enough said, the point is ONE LOSS is a very harsh setback.

That was chicken ****. Aside from that Clottey won that fight, albeit a VERY close fight. Cotto is lucky that fight was in in NYC, and showed tremendous heart in fighting through that terrible cut. All in all a good showing by both fighters, but as I always say, knock them out if you want a win. Clottey didn't even put Miguel on his ass once. So take that for what you will...

Clottey really didnt capitalize on the opportunity in front of him. Where was his killer instinct to put Cotto away. There were times when it just seemed like he didnt want to let his hands go. Cotto let his hands go, even with the cut he fought like a champion. I really dont see how Clottey fits in the championship picture with these other guys. I dont see Clottey beating any of the welterweight champions
