I've made this comparison also. I hate to say it but I really do think Cotto only has a few good fights left in him. I think he should fight Berto and Floyd before he retires. I don't think Cotto will be fighting in his thirties.. I hope I'm wrong but I don't see it.

Cotto is a great fighter but these wars with Torres...Corley...Judah...Mosley...Clottey and Margarito are taking their toll....

I dont want to see Cotto end up like Vargas and Jermain Taylor but its destined to happen IMO.....

And Cotto has fights looming with guys like Berto...Mosley..Margarito....Mayweather...Clottey II and Williams...oh and Pacman.

No he's nowhere near shot. He looked great against Clottey, won the fight and did it w/ a huge bloody cut on top of his eye.
As for the bold section, the only fights that are really possible out of that list are Tony 2 and Packy.
Mosley wont get that fight again, Williams wont either, Clottey will never get a rematch and Berto will never get a match w/ Cotto either, nor does he really deserve one.

I'm sure he'll be fighting in his 30s. Hey look, tell me how many people thought Shane Mosley years removed from losses to Winky and Vernon Forrest would be today's WW champ. The fact is Cotto still has only 1 loss and showed a lot of heart and a hell of a chin against Clottey while fighting under adversity (badly cut eye for 10 rounds) and prevailing by being more active, the sign of a real champ.

I agree and have been saying the same thing. At times he looked almost frightened when he was being walked down and put under pressure by clottey the other night.
He started moving in straight lines exactly as he did during the Margarito fight.

You can lose your prime in one fight, and he lost something in that Margarito fight that he wont ever get back. The next elite fighter he faces will beat him. I'm not hating on him,I think he has been an amazing fighter and he has given great entertainment down the years, but watch the Clottey fight and the Marg fight again and you will see what I mean.
