Tbh, Vargas in his prime was a better fighter than Cotto. The Winky and Quartey Vargas fought would have easily beat Cotto. However, Cotto is the same fighter he was.

He didnt dismantle Jennings.....IMO....Old Cotto wouldve balsted his ass out in 3 rounds...

Dont get me wrong hes still a bull....but he doesnt look dominate anymore..he doesnt look like the guy who landed rights on Mosley with ease...or the guy made Judah quit....or the guy who battered Quitana with no problem....he doesnt look like the guy who I thought would be a FOTY candidate with Floyd anymore...I used to have that fight 7-5 for Floyd...hell I got that **** more like 10-2.....of KO for Floyd.

Cotto made me a fan somewhat lately...but his road aint getting any easier man..Williams...Berto...Plasterito...Mayweather... Mosley....Clottey...Pacman....i mean seriously tats a ****ing guantlet.

You gotta keep in mind that he's fighting all the fighters NOBODY wanted to fight. I don't care if you're Shane Mosley or Floyd Mayweather, neither of them walk out of a Clottey without a drop of sweat. Cotto fought with a very bad cut with blood dripping in his eyes, took hard punches, and still kept fighting. To me, that's the sign of a true champion. Cotto ain't gonna dominate every fight he's in, but he showed he's got a lot of heart. That's all we can ask for as fans of Boxing. Guys like Cotto don't come along every day.

The reason he doesn't look as dominant is cuz he's fighting better fighters. Jennings was in survival mode during that fight and Clottey is pretty damn good...

Cotto still beat Mosley and wrecked 140 when he was there...

He dismantled Jennings... which he should of... and he did.

And NOBODY looks good against Clottey.. and he had a HUGE gash from a headbutt... theres no way ANYONE could of seen all the punches coming at them...

I'm starting to think it was more the cut then being damaged goods as I did first..
he was really effected by the cut and it bothered him a lot.
then again, it required 30 stiches to close it so why wouldn't it.
