How the hell would you or I know? Valero, JMM are possible opponents. Who else is there at 140? Bradly? pffft.

Third of all... its only ONE pound now?

Fourth of all... A LOT of people care about a unified champion.
Not being aggressive, maybe the CAPS scared you off, I dunno..

Yes, it's one pound for Cotto if the fight is at 145 being that Cotto just weighed in at 146.

Why would he even consider it? Less money, less notereity, less everything. Save for say, JMM, fighting Valero is a direct result of the fact that they are on the same promotion, basically other than a JMM rematch, if guys like mosley/mayweather/cotto are on the table, if i was pac, i wouldnt even have 140 as a second thought, which is why within the year, or a year from now, he should surrender the belts. UNLESS a JMM fight is on the horizon.

It all depends on what happens. If, say Valero won a couple high profile fights and the hype for him got even bigger, I can see Pac taking the fight no problem. Or say if Pac has a TOUGH/CLOSE fight with Cotto, he might want a "tune up" fight before taking on one of the other big names. Or if the fights with Cotto and/or Shane Mosley fall through, never happen.

            Just throwing **** out there.

              Nobodys runnin scared, homie...

Every pound under 147, makes Cotto less and less at his peak potential.

Here is my point. If you want to fight Cotto, you want to beat Cotto... Then do it.. at his best weight.

When you are trying to make weight, and you FINALLY get down to 147... do you think losing ANOTHER pound, and then ANOTHER pound after you are already dehydrating does not make a difference?

Dont forget Cotto struggles to make 147. Making 145 is a harder struggle seeing as he'll be losing 2 pounds of extra muscle.

Dont underestimate the difficult of losing the extra 2 pounds, especially in Mosley's scenario.

Exactly.... when you are ALREADY dehydrating to make the 147 pound limit... two MORE pounds DOES make a difference.

The point is this... If you wanna beat Cotto/Mosley... beat them at their best.
Otherwise you will NOT get full credit... Pac just wont get full credit.

And anyway you slice it.. Cotto/Mosley beat Pac at ANY weight... they wont get credit.

You see all this? On the other hand you have TWO champions at the very top of the same division... Cotto overcoming a viable threat in Clottey... Mosley dismantling Margarito, who dismantled Cotto... and Cotto barely beating Mosley.

This is a fight I wanna see for Welterweight Supremacy.

Not some... well Mosley was TOO big... Cotto was too weight drained... Pac was too Small.. etc etc

Personally, I’d like to see GBP to give JMM his step-aside money so we can have PAC-PBF…one more fight, then call it a career…then WWs can fight WWs and jr welters can fight jr welters
