Man its hard to dislike Miguel Cotto, He's straight foward and doesnt beat around the bush.He could have stopped the fight early last saturday and won on pointz due to the early Kd,but he didnt, instead he faced adversity like a true champion and prevailed. Imagine if Mr steward started training Cotto.. Cotto would be in my opninon unstoppable. The people who are starting to say Cotto is not good az people r making him out to be are just blind. Cotto beat Cq,Mr Judah,Mosley, and like it or not Joshua Clottey the cream of the crop, what else doez he need to prove for respect?

          He's got to Demolish.

          Pwill
          Clottey Rematch
          Mosley Rematch

And not just win decisions they have to be destroyed in brutal K.O's in the first couple rounds.

Remember no K.O on NSB = Shot bum and needs to retire.

and thats no matter the level of competition.

He appears to be likable, a stand up guy for the most part except for beaten up his uncle. but with all that said....he lost that fight on Sat.

Now I know most say clottey didn't do enough in the championship rds, but I think he did. He chased a fleeing Cotto for last 2 rds. If clottey didn't land nothing, Cotto sure as hell didn't. he was a hurt and fatigued fighter who fled for his life the last 2 rds. So let's be clear, that wasn't ring generalship...that was buying time and clottey won that fight!

Bad as he continues to get hammered for the Marg TKO, as well as gettin a split decision win, if he had actually quit against Clottey, Cotto would be e lynched on here. Champs are supposed to fight thru pain. give em props.

i'm sorry but cotto will never be overrated!! his mindset is exceptional, his balance is exceptional. Also what does every fighter say about him after the fight? i underestimated his speed, and precision. I enjoy watching that brother fight - period. He fought a elite fighter with one eye, and could have easily had it stopped and retained his title, but dude fought for like 10 or 11 rounds with one eye, exact same thing as roy, but what did roy do, he folded, couldn't pull the trigger, etc.. i'm not a huge cotto fan, i'm a huge fan of boxing, and respect is due and given to the PR Warrior!!! i do not think Pac will have the heart to take cotto out. Cotto can neautralize speed, and if he gets someone like manny in there to help fine tune him, that might spell disaster for any of his potential matchups. (pac / roach - very deadly combo) Roach knows pac's strengths , weaknesses, etc.. it will definately take a good strategist to come up with something to disrupt their chemistry. That is all that cotto is lacking, i think the rift between him and his trainer has hampered his training and fighting spirit for the last couple of fights - where as before cotto would convincingly beat opponents, now we are hearing gift decisions, split decisions, controversial decisions - i think with manny we will be hearing more unanimous decisions,TKO, KO ....

Clottey lost the fight more than Cotto won the fight. Clottey was the one without the mental status needed to win the last 3 rounds. Cotto showed "crianza boricua" and prevailed, end of the story.

                  BTW, **** Tony!!!

I have more respect for Cotto, if only because he's fought more true, quality welterweights (Clottey, Mosley, Judah, Margarito, Quintana) than PBF (Judah, Baldomir (lol)?).

Cotto showed some cojones vs clottey, but they sure need an upgrade in the corner hell even the cutman. i would love to see nacho train cotto for the pacquiao fight
