This pretty much proves that it isn't.

1.) The rib isn't broken. Therefore it shouldn't take that long to heal.

2.) I find it more than coincidental that the "injury" will be healed up in time for the fight to go off on the weekend of Mexican Independence.

It's a cheap ploy on his part to generate more intrest, and get Mexicans' money.

I was hoping Marquez would pull the win off to begin with.

Now I'm hoping he does even more.
Dead on. That's exactly what I thought when I read this.
At first I thought it might be legit or it may be weight problems but after hearing it's been postponed until Mexican Independence I knew right then that tickets weren't selling, that the fight wasn't generating interest and they are going to try to capitalize on Mexican patriotism and the holiday to sell the fight.
Wether Mexicans buy this ploy or not who knows?
But I definitely agree.. I will be rooting for Marquez even harder now.

Yea I saw, an injury like this is no joke. The only way to get better is rest and if you try to push a fast comeback with an injury liek this, it only leads to getting reinjured.

It would have probably been better off had he just had broken ribs. If it is this type of injury.

Yup, however don't you think that it will take more than 10 weeks to heal? For him being an athlete that is involved in a contact sport where occasionally fighters go for your ribcage that would make it dangerous for his wound wouldn't it?

I'm a Mayweather fan but I gotta admit this **** is suspect. I doubt the injury is legit.

It is possible, that is a very bad injury for a fighter. All he has to do is twist to much and bam he could reinjure it mid fight, and he would basically be done for (or in training for that matter).

If this is his injury all he can do is let it heal and listen to his doctor. If he tries to push it he will be out for a lot longer.

Also as for the whole Mexican Indepence Day, there are only so many viable PPV dates and there is always a PPV on that date, if Floyd has to take off a long time it makes sence that they push it to that date (maybe he could come back the first weekend in Sept. but if they are going to wait that long why not just wait until the 19th on what would be a much better date).

I guess September would be good enough. Would suck though if that wound bothers him in the fight because of not enough rest.
