Every Cotto fight ends up being life and death lately. His career is going to be cut short if his defence does'nt improve.
Miguel cotto: Some concerns

Yeah I am furious about this whole thing, I found out on thursday that no one from cotto's camp checked margs wraps and vice versa before their fight, now wonder he fired his uncle! Obviously you never expect someone to cheat at such a high level of the sport, but talk about ******ity.Comment

he did look different, but thats not necessarily a bad thing. hes usually this animal who looks to give his oponents a beatdown, hes not gon do that to clottey..
he knew he couldnt hurt clottey so he didnt fight his usual fight, it was a testament to him being multidimensional rather than washed up imo. thats said i acctually think clottey beat him, and even if i didnt it was clottey who gave it away and not cotto who won it. he didnt look great but it might just be a case of a bad styles matchup, or clottey is just the better fighter (and always has been).Comment

Yeah I agree. Everything seems to be a war. I think unless he employs another strategy he will only be able to fight at this level for a few more fights. He's gotten roughed up a lot lately.Comment

how are you going to base cotto being "shot" or not on a fight where he could only use one eye for more than 80% of it? he destroyed michael jennings which doesn't mean much but that only lasted 5 or 6 rounds. you didn't get to see cotto warm up and get back to being himself. same with this fight. cotto didn't get a chance to fight his fight. he was on the defensive the entire night due to the fact that he was wounded so early on. the fight would have gone very differently without the cut. so this fight just like the jennings fight hasn't really cleared up the issue of "did the margarito fight take something out of cotto".Comment
