“If you remember that controversial fight. A lot of people thought technically that De La Hoya won that fight. But De La Hoya ran the last three rounds, did not behave like a fighter, did not try to win those rounds, just played it safe and he did not get the decision."

I'm sorry but the fight I watched last night had Cotto running the last 3 out of four rounds and Clottey coming forward trying to catch him.

I agree that Clottey did not cut off the ring and do as well the first half of the fight but he sure didn't take the last few rounds off like De La Hoya did ..

IMO Cotto ran like Mayweather knowing it was his home court and he had a judge in his pocket... 116 -111 for a guy with less punch stats ... BS total unadulterated BS.

Teddy usually makes sense but it was Cotto who was running like Oscar. Everyone Knows Cotto had special boots so the fresh paint on the ring would'nt effect him. They gave Cotto every advantage in that fight and he could barely hang. I used to like Cotto but HBO has changed my views. HBO favors him way too much. The ref was favoring Cotto as well. HBO is so crooked, seriously!

lol how the ref was favoring cotto??
if the ref was favoring cotto wouldnt the ref called the ring doctor to check cottos cut?? he didnt even bother to call the ring doctor during rounds. while clottey got hit behind the head because he was holding and the ref warned cotto for hitting and not warned clottey for holding. and what about the round that clottey's corner was in the ring for a good 10 seconds after the round started

u'll need 2 see the fight again,i had it exactly like teddy after the ninth @ draw, cotto won the 10th,clottey the 11th,& cotto definetly outworked clottey in the 12th. i had cotto winning by 1 point. clottey had the opportunity with cotto's eye 2 close the show & 2 me wasnt busy enough, remember hes the challenger in a close fight. while cotto survived being handicap for most of the fight. by the way, 2 me clottey exagerated his injury & even forgot he had one after the 4th round. & please dont forget the K.O. in the 1st round for alot of u that cant count.........all the cards fell perfect for clottey last night but he wasnt just wasnt busy enough. as for cotto honestly it wasnt his best performance but i've never had 2 fight a beast with one eye. as soon as i seen the cut i thought the fight was gonna be stopped. plus may i add what a bad new cutman in cotto's corner i remember in the judah fight how evangelistas team use 2 send cotto looking clean out 2 fight after every round these guys just barely where putting pressure on the cut & sending cotto out all blody without even wiping him with a clean towel or nothing. cotto needs a better corner.......its over u'll can cry all u want 4 all the haters but the fact here is that it wasnt pretty but he really did win, close but he won . so its over & time to move on to manny. & please dont start sounding like mosley fans & yelling about a rematch.....

atlas is right! Clottey stopped punching in the 12th & I don't know why because he had cotto on the retreat from 8-11, he was agressive & active but for whatever reason he chose to attack in the 12th.I like both fighters but while cotto was a warrior fighting on when he could have copped out before the 5th from the cut but fought in but I was disappointed in clottey milking the slip & behind the head punch.mercante had none of it & did a fantastic job lastnight in my opinion.just luke his dad when he pulled the scissors out & cut the tape himself instead of allowing a lull in action by having the corner fix it.we all know trainers seem to have slow hands when it comes to fixing tape.I think clottey had cotto on the run but just wasn't busy enough in the last round.teddy was right.what the hell! teddy has been on the ball lately by giving accurate commentary.he's stepped up his game too! I usually get irritated by his babbling & he repeats himself steady but recently I've actually enjoyed his commentary.

a KD on the first round..gameness all throughout the fight with a nasty gash at that.
a clear win imho...**** the robbed/gift debate !

fight decisions isnt based on thrown/landed percentage. so stop that crap.

again a clear win for cotto
Thrown and landed does'nt matter? Oh I get it only when it's Cotto landing more punches is when it counts. Thanks for filling me in. Whatever happened to guys having a rematch after a close fight? This fight did'nt prove ****.
