I think a lot of people are big fans of Cotto and are blinded by reality. Not saying you were but it should have been a draw at least

i picked cotto to win by a close decision before the fight.....after the fight, the wrong man got the decision.

clottey 114, cotto 113. close fight nonetheless. i gave cotto rounds 1,4,6,11,12 and all the rest to clottey. i will say cotto finished the fight like a true champion, clottey didn't. i have no problem w/ cotto winning this fight 114-113, but no way in hell should cotto have been given this fight w/ scores of 115-112, and no way in hell was this a 116-111 fight for cotto.

          I didn't see Cotto winning it 116-111. 114-113, yes.

I also think that a potential Pac-Cotto fight might have been derailed had the judges scored it for Clottey.

But very gutsy performance by Miguel, because Clottey is a beast WW with solid skills. No way he was going to quit because of the cut. The man is a warrior who fights legitimate threats (and that's how he earns my deepest respect as a fan).

Bob Arum will try to extend Miguel's contract with a Pacquiao fight.
I think you hit the nail on the head with this response. If Cotto vs Pacman happens, is should not and can not be on the east coast.

              Lost the edge

So sorry for Cotto ! Life deals its hands ! Cotto is exposed ! Once you cur , you cur quicker the next time.

It was in Clotteys hands to lose the fight, he did ! That first knockdown was a ****** shot to go down by, off balance maybe, but it sure didn't help Clottey and he wasn't hurt , just his feelings , then that fake fall to the ground, was he looking for excuses???????????? The the rabbit punche to the nice head,,,,,,,,,,,,,????????? quiting?????????? looked like it to me. Clottey is a weird dude to be in the upper grand stands of elite boxing. He gave the last two rounds to Cotto.

Cotto started quitting earlier this time than against Margo. I hate it for him but that is what he did. The last two rounds were given to Cotto. Clottey doesn't know pressure like Margo knows Pressure.

I am sure Mayweather feels better now that he knows he can whip Cotto, his problem is JMM,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Mayweathers NEXT !!!!!!!!!!!! I wanna see a fair fight with no cuts to stop the fight, no illegal tactics to stop the fight.........I want to see May on his butt and see what he does with that.

I thought along with most people Clottey won 2 of the last 3. 10th they landed the same, but Clottey was the aggressor, 11th Clottey doubled Cotto in punches landed. Cotto got the decision because Arum can make more money off of him. Clottey did enough to win the fight, not enough if you account for not getting a fair shake.

I largely agree with this. I honestly feel the fight should've been a draw; I gave Cotto the same rounds as you did, but I had round 10 even. I wouldn't argue with 114-113 either way, but 115-112? 116-111? That kind of judging discredits the sport.

And am I the only one pissed about Arum's comment that this "...was a great fight, and under ordinary circumstances Clottey deserves a rematch. But we have economics. It’s just not going to happen next"? F**k economics. Saying that in this kind of context just invites speculation that the outcomes of major fights like this are fixed, or at the very least heavily influenced by 'economics'. I wouldn't be surprised.
