I'd rather see John Ruiz with a title then Valuev or Chagaev. At least Ruiz has earned it the hard way.

“I guess in that case I’m a dead man,” he said.

“I feel like there’s been a black cloud associated with me for my whole career, and it’s following me around. I’ve been blessed in a lot of ways with the things that I’ve accomplished, but it does feel sometimes like the sport has it in for me.”

Never a stranger to controversy and intrigue both in the ring and out, Ruiz’s latest soap opera once again involves the World Boxing Association and its multi-fragmented heavyweight title – which as of Monday night remained in familiar limbo. [details]
So he wants to contend for the faith? I'm now a fan!

Ruiz is awful, I wish there were some way the heavyweight division could be rid of him.

I totally agree! It's guys like ruiz haye, dimitrenko, boytsov, kingpin should be going after.he's earned his shots in the past.he fought almost everyone of his time.Rahman, ruiz,Holyfield will always be in the mix because of the past.the new blood has to beat them.golota,Austin, toney are more stepping stones.

Ruiz is better than given credit for because his style is boring. But since Lewis retired, and besides Wlad, who has fought the best heavyweight comp other than Ruiz? Thie kid has some push, you gotta give him that.

I'd pick Ruiz over either of these guys. Especially the fat, slow and cumbersome likes of Peter.
