The poster said a lot of them not all of them. Not every boxer can debut on FNF in their first fight and have more than half of their fights on HBO. Do you know how many active professional boxers there are? Carlos Baldomir was selling feather dusters before beating Judah, outside of the top 10 in every division and star prospects, pretty much every boxer has another job.

Would you as a boxing promoter pay Winky Wright 3 Millions dollars because of the stripes he has earned through out his career knowing he most likely wouldnt generate a quarter of that in revenue?
Simple answer is no, but the difference is, HBO isn't a promoter, it's a network. They get their money from paid subscriptions and interpret ratings as satisfying their subscribers. So Winky Wright might be worth it to them and the most important factor is Winky had them by the balls with that lawsuit, lol. HBO probably wouldn't have done it if not because of that.

true. HBO has no notion in investing in the future though they have been trying with Dawson, Diaz, Kirkland, Angulo etc.

I think it depends on the boxer and what they bring to the table. Some Boxers deliver action packed fights and get paid **** all. Some Boxer deliver boring fights and get paid a fortune.

Someone like Mayweather has created a persona that gets him big Paydays and sure he is a brillant fighter, but his fights are hardly what the General Public want to see and that is action packed fights.

I can understand why someone like DLH got big Pay Days because he generated so much money and some of his fights were exciting.

Well you have to take into account promoters, trainers, taxes, etc. They aren't really making that much. Still the boxers at the highest level make a lot of money. And they do deserve it.

Tiger makes most of his money off endorsements. First place in the biggest tourny of the year (Masters) is only 1-2 Million.

Ya know with fights like Wright/Williams, or even Tarver/Dawson I and II, you wonder how they come up with the money. Because there were only about a thousand people in the stands.

He makes a lot more than people think. I read an ESPN article where they followed his career from his first fight, and he even made good money from the Estrada fight on forward. Six figures.
