They deserve it. To be elite in any sport is unbelivable and the pay shoudl reflect it. They are like 200 in 6 billion that have that talent to box at that level.

That would be another point, but I still think they deserve what they get for the most part atleast in realtion to total revenue from a fight (fighters should be getting the big piece of the pie consider they are the stars putting their health on the line). Sometimes fighters get overpaids because they make a bit more then they are worth (I just look at that as payback for making short money while comming up).

I think you guys are aiming at the wrong athletes. Most MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, FIFA, ****ing PGA and PTA players make more than an elite boxer. You should be complaining about them being overpaid and not someone that recieves pain for a living.

Mid level and lower weight boxers are underpaid if anything.

No because there is rediculously high demand for those sports.

Boxing is a niche sport, only a few fighters here and there are truly superstars.

Thats why im not complaining about guys like DLH and MAYWEATHER recieving 20 million plus dollar pay days. They deserve them. They earn them.

HBO does not need to pay 2 million bucks for WRIGHT-WILLIAMS because there was ZERO demand for it in comparison to these other BIG fights, like the one this weekend

What they get paid should be based on what the bring in. I don’t think that fighters making millions is over paying if they are brining that kind of money in. The lions share of the revenue should always go to the athletes in any sport. The travesty would be if say hypothetical Manny vs. Floyd bought brought in over $100,000,000 and they each got paid $1,000,000 while the venue and HBO got the rest. Which is the way most sports were back in the day when athletes were treated like indentured servants by the rich business men who owned them and bled them dry.

Couple of things to take into account here.
How many fights in their career do these guys pick up the big bucks?
How much do they net out of their purse after taxes, managers cuts, training fees etc etc etc.

I'd rather the fighters get it than Don King for example.

                    Agreed.

They should get paid even more IMO. Unlike other sports they are risking their lives for our entertainment.

Berto was paid half a million for his fight with Collazo. (in total the fight cost over 700,000)

And we wonder why HBO has a strained budget.

Williams and Wright should make about 500,000 apiece IMO.

Guys like Berto should be making like 200,000.

Mosley and Marg should be making in the millions but i believe Mosley made like 3 million.

HBO is just paying SOOOO much for these fights.

***** ALSO, If you'll remember HATTON-LAZCANO was in discussions to be on HBO but since HBO would not pay 3 million bucks for it, it ended up being on VERSUS.

Guess how much VERSUS paid for the fight... not even 200,000 bucks. explain that.
HBO probably has more money than Versus
