Mosley and Margarito were both paid 7 digits (although they prolly deserved it)

Berto was paid half a million for his fight with Collazo. (in total the fight cost over 700,000)


And we wonder why HBO has a strained budget.

Williams and Wright should make about 500,000 apiece IMO.

Guys like Berto should be making like 200,000.

Mosley and Marg should be making in the millions but i believe Mosley made like 3 million.

HBO is just paying SOOOO much for these fights.


***** ALSO, If you'll remember HATTON-LAZCANO was in discussions to be on HBO but since HBO would not pay 3 million bucks for it, it ended up being on VERSUS.

Guess how much VERSUS paid for the fight... not even 200,000 bucks. explain that.

Winky wouldnt fight for 500k. HBO does overpay though, I think Mosley got 2 mil for Marg. Their problem is they hype the wrong fights, fights like JMM/Diaz which even sounds good on paper should have been hyped more and possibly on a PPV card with another big fight other than some of the things they put on PPv. HBO only cares about names, because they are secure in believing names sell, because the casual public only know names. They are correct, but you have to put those names in competitive fights in order for the casuals to come back the next time.

pro sports people at the top level are all paid way to much however if there is a sport where the athleats deserve to be paid to much it is boxing i have no issue with how much those guys get paid

In a business sense, they do get overpaid, but that is by fault of the ones doing the paying.
