However if two fighters are of equal or very comprable skill and one of the fighters is larger than the other, it only makes sense that the larger fighter has an advantage.
Not necessarily, I dont think so, simply because its a thinking man's game. The reason you chose the fighters you chose gives one reason to think you feel a certain way, you already stated you dont think this should happen. But would you agree that Floyd/JMM is closer in size than Floyd/Margarito or Floyd/Williams? Im sure you would love to see those fights though.

its pretty simple man... if he aint 147, i would assume he is/was 140...

and he made hatton, the champ @ 140 go to him @ 147...

why? he felt stronger & more comfortable @ that weight than being @ 140...

if u feel stronger & more comfortable @ a certain weight over some other weight, a thinking, logical person would assume that it is your natural fighting weight...

am i wrong to think this way?

I actually think Marquez has a chance, I really do, but I think he will have to of course shock Floyd, land something Floyd doesnt see, hurt him and basically finish him. I only say its a tuneup because the natural progession is a Pacquiao fight, but in reality it isnt a tuneup, Marquez is a top fighter, not to mention Floyd has been gone. Marquez was moving up to 140 anyway also. Look at the pictures of them together, Floyd isnt much bigger and when Marquez shows up at 144 they will look even closer in size.

Put it like this, Floyd has moved up a ton of weight classes and is smaller than most at 147, so naturally he shouldnt be held responsible for fighting every high caliber opponent at a weight class where he is naturally smaller, threadstarter basically said this with his thread, skill can only take you so far until size will ulitmately beat you.

He was already at 147lbs dealing with boxers up there, and as far as we and he could tell at the time his next fight would likely take place at welterweight too

So he will have bulked up to suit 147lbs despite his body size being more natural at 140lbs. So what you think he should have done, is cut weight to fight a lesser boxer than himself and then re-bulk up to continue as he was...

Honestly, I view Paul Williams as a middleweight at this stage. So I don't really consider there to be much pressure on Mayweather to fight him. I do think he should be able to fight Margarito since they are both Welterweights. However, that fight has obviously lost all it's luster considering Margarito isn't allowed to fight and he just got demolished by Mosley.

why make a very simple thing pretty complicated mi amigo?

the underlined ends our discussion... PBF belongs to the welterweight class...

I hadn't heard anything of Marquez moving up in weight. I definitely don't think it's completely out of the question for Marquez to win. Mostly b/c he's so hellbent on Pacquiao revenge.

So you would agree with Pac/Mosley, Pac/Cotto, Pac/Margarito all at 147?

I think I heard he was going to 140, at least I heard many on here say he was going there anyway, not sure where they heard it, there didnt seem to be another big fight at 135 since he cleaned up two champs.
