Tua is being shown a lot of disrespect in this thread. Before Lewis when he still had decent mobility he was a challenge for anyone. Sure he was limited but he was a good fighter with a huge punch and an iron chin. And he was no slob back in the day.

I do believe that as well as John Ruiz, Obed Sullivan was never knocked out like he was agaisnt Tua. You might say so what. Well, Id say, it proves some people cannot handle that kind of heat. I do believe Robert Daniels was never down either.

Well, so far noone beat Valuev. Except Chagaev and that was merely a majority decision.

Moreover I don't understand what my logic has to do with Valuev. I was comparing factual features+performances of Tua.

Yup, Tua lost. Because every inch counts.

See it from the other side: Wlad has more KOs on his record, a higher KOratio than Tua, would be Tua's tallest opponent and would be Tua's most experienced opponent. Tua has not won against anyone close to Wlad. How could Tua withstand Wlad's punches for 12 rounds? Of course the posssibility exists that Wlad loses, but it would be highly unlikely.

Really he only lost to Lewis and Byrd. He was beaten but never even in danger of being stopped even though he was badly hurt in the first (his own admission) against Lewis .he fought a huge puncher like Lewis for 12 rounds..

Short little fatties don't get 50 wins and 40 plus knockouts.

He beat some very good guys back in the day.

I realise you probably said that tongue-in-cheek. But you do realise the power Tua had. I'd say it was on Tyson's level, but without the fundamentals and perhaps the accuracy. Boxing isn't always about the sheer power, it's about setting it up. Dave just couldn't set the shots up at times.

It's sometimes about the shots you don't see. Do you remember Holyfield saying the lighter weight fighters hurt him more because of that fact?

                    17 ko losses?

danell nicholson is a good solid heavyweight. nothing special but no bum either. you don't make the olympics team when you're a bum.
Sorry, typo alert! Need to go to bed already!
I meant Calvin Jones, of course: 20 wins, 19 losses (KO 17). Tua needed 4 rounds to KO Jones.

Thank you for pointing it out! Nicholson is of course no bum. Tua needed 6 rounds to KO him, Wlad needed 4.

tua would get outclassed, but at the same time i think he could possibly wear wlad down and possibly ko him after taking a ton of big shots, and a beating from wlad.
