I just rewatched several Tua fights.

Not in 100 years would Tua beat Wlad. He basically had merely 2 moves (left hook, right hook) and had huge difficulties with better fighters.

every good fighter thinks they can outbox tua.

but even when they do more often than not they can't do it for 10-12 rounds straight.

maskaev , rahman , izon , oquendo......tua got a late round ko/tko when the scores were close or he was behind.

it's tough to fight tua.

tua can take punches and keep on coming. tua also can keep his punching power into rounds 11 and 12.

Yeah, the people saying Ibeabuchi was overrated sometimes point to the fact he was hit very often against Tua. I really don't think it's that big of a deal though. He hadn't been involved in any tough fights up until that point, and showed improvements in the Byrd fight. I'm a fan of the early Tua as well, but Ike definitely had the skills to go further and win World titles. You only need to watch Tua's fight with Byrd to see the difference.

Apparently the only time Ike was ever down was in a sparring session with Rahman. Apparently Ibeabuchi touched his glove on the canvas and that was it. Interestingly enough, Rahman put Tua down as well, although it was just because Tua was caught off balance [not to mention it wasn't an official knockdown as it appeared to come after the bell]. That's the closest both men have come to being put down.
