Shane Mosley, Will He Take The Paul Williams Challenge?

No reason to get Williams man. He's not a draw at 147, or any weight for that manner. He dont bring no money, and is a high risk fight.

I always put myself in both fighters' shoes in a situation like this. After Mosley destroyed Margarito the HBO announcers mocked Margarito for turning down a 4 million dollar payday to avenge his defeat. And after that, they mentioned they were interested in seeing a fight between Mosley and Williams. If Goosen and Williams come out with the dollar amount that they think is fair to Shane, the ball will be in Mosley's court.

Come on man, this is the type of mentality that is making boxing lame. I know Quintana is a C class fighter. But I also view Vernon Forrest as one too and Shane is 0-2 against him. I don't give a **** about how many PPVs such and such guy sells or how many tickets he sells at the gate. I actually think those type of fighters are overrated when you stop to think about it. I certainly don't view Gatti or Hatton as elite fighters.

dude trust me i know it's lame. but it's just the way boxing is. boxers got to pay the bills. they spend too much time and work trying to make it big, and after making it big why risk losing a fight that wont bring you good money ? shane is 37, he really can't bounce back after another loss. he knows he's not going to look good against williams, no welter probably will. williams all he really does is throw a lot of punches and overwhelm, frustrate people.

Also known as a lame excuse. Lets just stop with the BS, guys dont want to fight williams b/c they are scared to lose to him.

Any name fighter that takes him on probably wont get a big pay day but they get a very formidable name in their resume & respect from boxing fans & media (i dunno if that means anything these days).

Maybe Pwill needs to ditch goosen. Go to top rank or golden boy. Hell, id go to don king. at least don king can feed tito trinidad, mayorga, or roy jones to Paul williams.

You can't just automatically assume that there is no money for Mosley in fighting Williams. It's a known fact that Margarito got a bigger payday getting in the ring with Williams than he did Cotto. Goosen isn't a heavyweight promoter like De La Hoya or Arum, but he's willing to push his guys out there when it makes sense. I think Paul's promotional team may come correct here and make Shane an offer he can't refuse. Nobody else is gonna fight Mosley that's a big name.
