benitez has someone like duran in his resume... then a championship @ 140 @ the age of 17! while PBF as he is still active, is still undefeated...

who do u think ranks higher in all-time stakes?
Id probably have to take Floyd on Resume... Prime Duran... a top 10 atg fighter is HUGE on your resume... on top of the fact he held titles at 140,147, and 154... I think if he had beaten hearns and Leonard Id prolly put him above...

But with floyd going from 130-154...6 titles in 5 diff weight classes, and is undefeated... I would probably have to give it to Floyd... even though Floyd never had a fighter like Duran on his resume... I think he still did enough in total accomplishments.

At 154 he was already shot. And at 140 he was a beast. At 147, he fought close with hearns, very close and he fougt Leonard even closer, but they stoped the fight. Wich was bull****.

Anyways, i think FLoyd would have a ard time landing anything Benitez.

I think Benitez takes a UD from him a stinker!!!!!!!!!

Yeah but I believe Floyd is a lot more tentative at 154...

I think Benitez would have an equally hard time landing on Floyd...

At 140 would be good. If not at 154, considering Wilfred did his best work in those division. Benitez knew his science, he had good defensive skills and showed plenty of aggressiveness as well. Fast hands and power to match were there to be seen.

Floyd facing Benitez at 140 would be more exciting I believe. Floyd obviously has great defense and good hand/foot speed, but his lack of KO power will not discourage Benitez from chasing him around the ring. Once Floyd realizes how hard Benitez hits and how adept Benitez is at countering himself, I see Floyd on his Bicycle for 15 rounds slipping and shoulder rolling a good portion of the offensive, but ultimately losing a 15 round SD.

I think Benitez is clearly the more accomplished fighter at 140+ lbs but he did lack longevity, suddenly becoming shot at just 25 years of age. What he did in the short amount of time that he was at the top was amazing though, wins over Duran, Cervantes (just 17 years old then), Palomino, Hope, Curry and others.

Mayweather's work in the lower weight classes (130-135) and what he does during his newest comeback might put him above Benitez in the all-time rankings.

Benitez showed the ability to be an effective aggressor in some of his fights and had very good inside fighting ability. I never thought of him as a boring fighter, most of his fights were pretty good because he was not one to back down from a fight.

He had a great right hand lead, comparable to Mayweather's, except with more power. Counter punching is what he was known for, and strictly as a counter puncher I'd rate him even above Mayweather, but Floyd's defense was more textbook and more useful than Benitez's ducking, bobbing & weaving which only made his opponents look silly but didn't score him any points.

Benitez relied on his so-called "radar" and when those amazing reflexes of his diminished, he too rapidly declined as a fighter like almost no one else I've ever seen. He went from superfights with Hearns, Duran and Leonard to fighting in clubs for little money.

                  at 140, maybe Floyd.

at 147 and 154, pretty clearly Benitez.

Benitez was actually amazing at 154, probably better than he was at 140-147. The KO of Maurice Hope and the decision over Duran are among his best performances.

He looked brilliant against Cervantes at 140 but didn't regain that form afterwards at that weight, possibly due to inexperience/immaturity since he wasn't even 20 years of age then. He didn't train much and wanted to get fights over with quickly, which made him more hittable. Bruce Curry really exposed this in their first fight.

Here's a compilation I put together of his biggest fights, the quality is bad in some:
