You are going to get a bunch of responses from kids who don't even know who Benitez is, or have never even seen him fight... and they will just say.......... Mayweather.

Although... I would probably favor Floyd.. Benitez had great movement, and used a lot of feints, his hands were pretty quick.. and he was good at picking off individual shots, which Floyd seems to be more of a pot shotter these days..

At 154... this fight would be very interesting..

benitez got a one-punch KO power even at 154... maurice hope, the titlist from that time got flattened by an over hand right... a single punch that KOs opponents... PBF doesnt have that...

No he doesn't.. but what he lacks in power he makes up for in defense and accuracy.

The single biggest problem.. for anyone.. is hitting mayweather... consistently.

Nobody has seemed to be able to do it... I think eventually it will take a volume puncher to literally just outwork him completely like Castillo did...

Benitez is more of a slick boxer, and I dont think he would out slick Floyd...

defense... i give it to PBF but only slightly...

but counter-punching i give the edge to benitez...

both are excellent fighting off the ropes too...

Counterpunching is close... the way Floyd uses his shoulder to roll your punch and come back with his is top level.

Benitez is a good counter puncher, but he does get hit in exchanges... especially in his fight with Leonard. He has heart and makes exciting fights... But Floyd is going to hit you and move out.. and Benitez sometimes gets drawn in toe to toe sometimes..

Also Benitez gets a little lazy in there sometimes, especially in the later rounds... Floyd seems to always be on high alert and 100% stamina, all 12 rounds...

But... at 154, I think Floyd would be a lot more leary of Benitez's counter punching and power.. I think he would be looking to punch when Floyd punches.. which would be the ideal thing to do.

When he fights inside, he gets a little lazy, his hands are kept a little too low and he likes to wing power shots... where Floyd like to keep his right hand up, and his chin tucked into his shoulder and shoot off tight accurate short shots inside... I think this would be bad for Benitez if he kept his hands low like that.. if Floyd decided to fight in the pocket.

But again... I dont know if Floyd would fight in the pocket like that at 154.

                  agreed...

but what in terms of accomplishments/resume?

benitez has someone like duran in his resume... then a championship @ 140 @ the age of 17! while PBF as he is still active, is still undefeated...

who do u think ranks higher in all-time stakes?

Prime Benitez had the best defense I have ever seen. he wasnt flashy, but he sure could make you look like a fool.

Leonard and heaarns both said that he is the best fighter they have ever seen and fought.

Leonard specially said , that it was weird, because as sson as you thought that you were about to land a punch at the last second he would slip it.

Anyways, overall Benitez had a better defense than FLoyd, but FLoyd hand teh hand speed andd foot work advantage. At 140 Benitez whoops, no nodoubt.
