It looks as if that's what Wlad will do, and it's understandable that Wlad wants to fight on the original date; but I don't see how any genuine fan of the sport of boxing could actually prefer him to cancel it, unless you're just a hater. Ali-Foreman was postponed for a few weeks due to an injury, and no one argued at that time that it would have been better to cancel it. This fight has generated more interest than any Heavyweight fight has since Lewis retired, and has sold more tickets than any fight in Europe has since World War II. How can it be bad for boxing to postpone it for only three weeks?
Chagaev is a good and credible replacement, plus it would be for the Ring belt and the lineal title; but nevertheless, I don't understand how any true boxing fan could say they would actually prefer him not to postpone the fight by only three weeks, when it has generated so much interest in the Heavyweight scene and in the sport.
