Why he can fight Oscar at 147 but not Shane, sad.

The majority of Oscar's fights prior to Pacman were at middleweight and light middleweight. Sugar's fights were at welterweight and light middleweight. Shane himself said that he's a natural welterweight and a small fighter in the higher divisions.

The difference between Mosley's natural 147 and the catch-weight 144 (or so) is much smaller than the gap between Oscar's average fights at 154 and the target of 147 that he ultimately surpassed in a very negative way.

try to consider manny is moving up and down in weight for his previous fights, dont you think that takes a toll on the body? i think it's fair and mosley would make the weight comfortably

I understand and respect that mate, about Pacquiao moving up and down... however, Manny usually weight 148 on fight night so it doesn't make much difference... plus he wont fight at 135 again I don't think, just 140+.

Mosley hasn't weight below 145 since 1999, he occasionally weight 10'6" in a few of his welterweight fights since then but the last time that happened was in 2002 against Forest (you might not be able to quote me on this though, cause I just checked it on boxrec).

So it might take a toll on his body...

I respect the Pacman, but why isn't this fight at 147? Didn't he fight at 147 already? Why the catchweight for Shane?

I still love the fact that Manny emphatically said, "Let's do it." But I wish it would be at 147. That would have added to his legacy, surely. No questions asked.

A Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight would be fine at 147 cause judging by there recent fights they weigh the same on fight night being 148 (but Floyd's body may have changed through the layoff we will have to wait and see), we can't expect Manny to fight Shane at 147 cause Shane will outweigh him by quite a lot on fight night at that weight.

It seems like there both at big disadvantages at both weights to be honest.

if shane loses because of weight drain its his own damn fault, hes chasing the number 1 spot......with shane at his best its a 50-50 fight.......im looking forward to it either way
