What makes you think the other fighter knows his opponent's unofficial weight on fight night that particular night. It can be a negative if a fighter thought you gained a whole lot and speed was your asset, then he would think you will be slow in the fight or have stamina issues.

Pacquiao before Oscar normally went up 14-16 lbs on fight night, so is he wearing clothes most of the time while other fighters who hardly gained anything standing naked on the scales? Of course not, for one we see how frail they are during the official weigh in and for those who gain alot, there is a very noticable change on fight night. Someone like Cotto looks drained during official weigh in, on fight night he is alot bigger and will show a 10-15 lb increase, I believe that is accurate, you can see it.
