I believe it comes from a strong and powerful back. I believe its the reason why coaches say keep your arms tight to your body when punching. So you use your back muscles the most instead of your pecs.

Pacquiao, Rampage, Hearns, Valero all have strong back muscles.

Maybe if he can move his arms quick enough, his wings look like they show permanently.

back, delts, core, and my former trainer told me, the rotation in the hips that generates a lot of power, also explosiveness

everything helps but it just comes down to strength, speed and technique.

Some guys use the core, some guys use the legs..some are arm punchers..down't really matter..they just have the feel for hitting.

back only get's used in pulling motion, so I don't see how that helps so much.

It depends how your body is built. If your tall and skinny, most likely from your back and triceps. If your short and stocky, most likely from your legs and back. I think numero uno is your back for power. Having everything else is a bonus and then you can learn to channel the everything else into your power.

depends how you throw the punch

some uppercuts are all legs and a little front delt
some uppercuts are hip and ab rotation
