Is power generated through the legs?

Is power generated through the legs?

    example Pacquiao
(I based it on the members of Boxingscene who posted PACS legs)
Rampage Jackson (based on Sports Science)

How come Valero has tremendous power? It is his fist with speed?

If only boxers would submit or allow them to test how strong their punches are like SPORTS SCIENCE.

Look at Thomas Hearns. Skinny leg and one of hardest hitters in boxing history.

It can be generated MORE through the legs but it doesn't have to come from it. Could be your hips. I use those the most.

Leverage and your back muscles, muscles in the legs play a role too, but they have more to do with physical strength, I think.

A lot of skinny boxers use their leverage I would imagine. Look at Prescott...almost all KO's but he is tall and skinny.

Well the power of a punch can be transported from the legs because you use them to move into the punch (or as Vers said you can use your hips), speed is even more important because speed also creates power.

I can't give great info, I have only been going Boxing for about 3 months + so I aint an expert... hope it helped... :Fing02:

When you are going to use a hook, you traditionally turn your left leg for a left hook. You get more power when you shift your body with the punch.

Lats and core muscles. Look at Hearns' back, it's HUGE. There was a pic of Cintron in The Ring magazine awhile back and his lats looked almost photoshopped-huge.

A V-shaped type of body. The upper body build is perfect.
