Really...? You think so? I think it's equally difficult.

Moving up 5-7lbs a time is equally difficult as moving up say 25lbs in a oner?

Depends, obviously. They are smaller fighters with less frame to add to. A fighter who is 5'5" will probably have a lot more difficulty packing on 15lbs of muscle while still being able to move his arms lol. But seriously, it depends on their frame and natural size. It's why a Joan Guzman can be called a mini-Tyson at one weight and can't punch worth **** in another.

It was ABA -- Amateur Boxing Assoc. UK, not just Wales.

Ol' Slappy won 4 schoolboy ABA titles, then 3 consecutive senior ABA titles in a row in 3 different weight categories. He's the only post-war boxer to win at Welter, Light Middle and Middleweight, plus he's the only British boxer ever to do this. Let's not beat around the bush -- these are actually very good achievements.

His amateur record was something like 110 wins of 120 fights. The last loss was as an amateur back in 1990.

          Overall, impressive!

Well, Joe Calzaghe fans do. This is a boxing forum, btw. It's normal to talk about **** like this.

did you know calzaghe won 3 ABA titles as an amatuer in 3 different weight classes, welterweight, light middleweight and middleweight? he was fighting full grown men too. he's the only fighter ever to do that.

he also came across american middleweight champion chris byrd and knocked him out and we all know about chris. calzaghe was robbed of going to the olympics because he wouldnt fight in some remote place for one time when the board knew full well he would have destroyed the guy sent instead representing the UK.
Do you ever get tired of sucking on Calzaghe's pole? Why don't you go get a girlfriend or something?

There are a lot of Mayweather attack threads so you have to make few defensive ones to set the record straight and balance things out. Calzaghe doesnt have it bad like that, just a few stubborn knuckleheads here and there who wont give him credit.. screw them. When the defensive threads begin to outnumber the attack threads it looks bad. Doth protest too much or something..

Joe Calzaghe beat a really good Bernard Hopkins who dominated Kelly Pavlik. He beat a young, hungry fighter in Mikkel Kessler, He embarassed the legendary Roy Jones Jr, and he accomplished all of this while remaining undefeated. His legacy is solid.
