I don't know why going back and forth has to be a criteria! Sometimes an old throwback turning back the clock and doing what nobody expected is good enough to make it fight of the year. i thoroughly found the one sided beat down and schooling entertaining! I like one sided fights sometimes when it is a master class. For example, Hopkins V Pavlik was good to watch is you are purist that likes to see a pure technician at work. Depens what you like, and IMo a FOTy doesn't always have to be action packed from both corners! If the action from one corner is artisitic enough, consider it for FOTY!

I think your totally wrong. FOTY cant be one sided like Hopkins-Pavlik. There has to be continuous battling between the two opponents. Look at the previous FOTY fights, there end to end stuff.

    1) Margarito-Cotto
    2) Morales-Barerra
    3) Gatti-Ward
    4) Vasquez-Marquez

These fights were end to end.

A very good knockout but it didn't have the sustained back and fourth action Marquez vs Juan had.
Less action... But much more Drama..

I'll take the first 5 rounds of Marquez/Diaz over the entire Froch/Taylor fight anyday.

Marquez and Diaz took that **** into the trenches. They were firing away at each other so ferociously that the ring ropes were constantly shaking like Freddie Roach in an earthquake.
        That wasn't right, lol.

One sided fights can never be FOTY for the simple fact that they are PERFORMANCES by one fighter rather than a FIGHT where the are 2 competitive parties.

I thoroughly enjoyed Pavlik/Hopkins though. It was like watching a "how to" of boxing. I could have pictured Hop stopping and looking at the camera and saying "Now, look how Kelly keeps his guard up when I threw combinations. That is the best time to change position and angle."

It was not a criticism .. Only that There are more good dust ups lined up on the slate.. the half way point is always a good time to reflect as well..
Oh definitely. And I didn't take it as criticism.

I'm really hoping that Haye/Klitschko gives us something to get excited about. I'm already pumped as hell for it, though I know Wlad will KO him. I'm just hoping Haye has enough to at least make it a memorable fight, and he doesn't get starched by Wlad's jab early.

              Cotto/Clottey should be a solid dust-up.

And I'm really, really hopeful that Marquez is going to give Mayweather everything he's got in him. Sometimes I just can't help but root for the underdog - especially when I happen to love that underdog, which is the case with Marquez.

Can you imagine if the fight goes 12 rounds? That'll be great for boxing!

In the past I have said a Straight shooting counter puncher would be Floyd's Kryptonite Someone like a Prime Forrest.. JMM has what I think is needed in style.. But I worry about him being in a bit too deep .. However he is the only man to besides Morales to stand up to PAC.. So here's to hoping he pulls off the unimaginable.. I would walk on air for few days I am sure..

I think Wlad-Haye could be interesting, if Haye can get inside on Wlad (and not get grabbed and tied up before he can do anything) he could do some business. To me that fight is ending in a knockout one way or the other I just hope we get to witness a good one (Wlad could use a nice highlight reel knockout at this point).

I am unsre on if Cotto-Clottey will be good, I still have questions about if Cotto is the same guy he was in the past. To me Clottey is a frontrunner, but if Clottey fights well early and Cotto has to dig deep to take the fight away from Clottey, that would be a pretty good fight (although it would not be give and take really, it would be one guy doing better, then the other guy taking over).

I am looking forward to Darchinyan-Agbeko, some people do not like the little guys (usually I do not pay much attention to them either), but this fight has had me excited for a minute.
