Late May is almost early June.

June is the halway point in the year.

I figured it'd be cool to bring it up now.

It was off the hook though. Sooooo many fine hispanic honeys including my girlfriend too. I dont think I sat down for much of the fight.

That must have been crazy. The co main event was exciting as well.

We've got 2 great fights coming up in June. Haye-Klitchsko and Cotto-Clottey.

        Next months gonna be great.

Froch Taylor was a good fight, but I don't know how anyone could have it over Marquez Dias. A good first three rounds, the fight slowed down, very little happened untill the tenth when Froch turned it up, and then stopped Taylor in the 12th. A very good knockout but it didn't have the sustained back and fourth action Marquez vs Juan had.

I tried to sound excited about it ONLY being may.. (damn internet)
It was not a criticism .. Only that There are more good dust ups lined up on the slate.. the half way point is always a good time to reflect as well..

Though as entertaining as it was, I'm not sure it could ever be considered "FOTY" - even if Marquez/Diaz wasn't in the picture.

Shane just flat out dominated his ass from start to finish. As entertaining and beautiful as it was to watch (those slo-motion replays of Shane's right hand are stunning), it didn't have much back and forth.
I don't know why going back and forth has to be a criteria! Sometimes an old throwback turning back the clock and doing what nobody expected is good enough to make it fight of the year. i thoroughly found the one sided beat down and schooling entertaining! I like one sided fights sometimes when it is a master class. For example, Hopkins V Pavlik was good to watch is you are purist that likes to see a pure technician at work. Depens what you like, and IMo a FOTy doesn't always have to be action packed from both corners! If the action from one corner is artisitic enough, consider it for FOTY!

I attributed that stoppage to 'Casa being older, and not able to hang with the Elites anymore.

But Marquez turned around and followed that one up with the brutal Diaz TKO.

Dude's even sicker than I had originally thought.
My whole thought process was that Diaz was basically the wrong guy for JMM at this point in his career. Nate Campbell beat the **** out of Diaz but did not knock him down or hurt him real bad, so I figured his beard was fine (along with his other good wins against some decent punchers). The Casamayor added mroe fule to what I wanted to see, in that fight he went war with Casmayor and that fit into an overall trend with his fights (I figured a high action fight would favor the younger man who is a career lightweight.

If I am going to be proven wrong and lose money, I atleast want it to be like this though (and it was one of the fighters I like that proved me wrong)

                  Marquez/Diaz

Diaz dominating the early rounds, Marquez coming back and winning the fight.

Froch/Taylor was a great fight, but not steady action fight.

                      I gotta agree.

I'll take the first 5 rounds of Marquez/Diaz over the entire Froch/Taylor fight anyday.

Marquez and Diaz took that **** into the trenches. They were firing away at each other so ferociously that the ring ropes were constantly shaking like Freddie Roach in an earthquake.
