Tyson never had stamina issues with Custamato or Kevin Rooney. He could go the full 12 with no problems as was evident in the Tony Tucker fight. Tyson's mental prime as a fighter was over when Rooney was fired. It was after that Tyson's whole corner was questionable and he did not train properly for every fight. Then his fighting physical prime never recovered after he was released from prison.

To answer the thread question: I believe Prime Mike Tyson with Rooney and Cus in his corner beats Lennox Lewis. Mike just had an uncanny ability to get on the inside of tall fighters. He would hurt Lewis on the inside and make it difficult for LL to hit him consistently. Even with the superb jab that Lenny had. Mike would time it and land some solid shots.

It doesn't matter who he's fighting it proves he can deal with tall heavyweights with a strong jab like Lewis and has a great defence. If you think a jab is going to beat Tyson you're sadly mistaken. Tyson with them defensive skills would actually rip Lewis apart IMHO.

None of them HW can be compared to Lewis.

I don't think a jab is going to beat Tyson, I never said that. I think Lewis' size, power, mental strength and all round boxing skills would be way too much for Tyson.

And where do they stack up with the greats of the heavy division ?

What great fighter did Lennox fight in his prime ?

In my book I stand by , he never really fought anyone .

i think the best answer in the poll is....

            who the **** knows, lol

tyson has more power, in his prime was a monster, lennox is a master boxer, was very large, you could make an arguement for either one.

He didn't fight greats, but he fought in the better era by far, you can't deny that. And he dominated the division for years, unlike Tyson.

50-50 fight in my opinion, Lewis can outbox him if he's smart.

I agree that Lennox wins , I think Lennox size and jab beats Mike easy , but if Mike could land he has got to be in with a KO shot , you take Lewis size out of it and Mike might land but as it stands Mike is a small heavy and would have a lot of trouble getting to him while being speared all night long .
