    This is true.

Not many men have held a World title for over a decade and unified their division.

Joe would of beaten James Toney, he was a level below Calzaghe.

Hopkin is a more difficult prospect but he would have troube with a prime Joe's hand speed.

Jones would of been a pick em fight.

I wish people would celebrate a great and underrated fighter like Joe more, he was an exceptional talent.

      won 46 (KO 32) + lost 0 (KO 0) + drawn 0 = 46

This is what Lacey (remember that unbeaten World Champion?) said before Joe Calzaghe handed his arse to him on a plate.

          • I actually defend Calzaghe when it comes to certain things even though I don't particularly like the guy. I think he would handily beat Chad Dawson if he came back out of retirement and took that fight. The only thing people who supported Calzaghe would have to be worried about is lack of hunger or ring rust on Joe's part. When you analyze the match up from a non biased point of view you see that everything that Chad Dawson does, Calzaghe does better except for maybe sit down on punches. And even there, I don't think either guy has a big advantage in power and I give the stamina and chin advantage to Calzaghe. Joe is also a lot more aggressive and consistent on offense. But just because I give Joe the benefit of the doubt for having the ability to beat an American fighter that I think people hype up too much doesn't let me forget the fact that a lot of the fights he took in Wales while he was promoted by Frank Warren is unforgivable.

Calzaghe was one of the best, most adaptable champions of this era. Long live the memory of the champ

I recently obtained a career set of Calzaghe's fights and early in his carer his punches were always straight and he was a straight killer to the body, sick right to the gut. He never slapped at all; I thin he does it to show different angles. He could change the way he presented a punch so you never know where it is coming from or where to block.

Man , please. He beat Kessler, Jones, Bernard Hopkins, Lacy...21 title defenses, moved up in weight and took the light heavy weight belt from the Ring champ who, in his very next fight, demolished Pavlik (15 or so years his jr), owns his own promo company, and retired undefeated with a 46-0 record.

you got to give cred where it is due.

                    Who is your favorite boxer?
