Of course it would have been a lot more legitimate for Mayweather's résumé if he could have got down to 140, but if he doesn't think he can without being weight drained, then it would be wrong for him to try - just as Cotto is right to say no to fighting Pac below 145.
    That's why catchweights are GAY!..

Cotto fighting Paquiao is POINTLESS!..on plus is $$$..but it's a lose-lose situation as far as fan base..

Mayweather shouldn't be lookin for a draw in his comeback/"tuneup"..plus fighting Berto in FL would SELL OUT!..Haitians would go NUTS!..and it's a legit 147 fight PERIOD!.

I'd rather see him fight Berto, but I think it's silly to get worked up about who he fights in a tune-up, and I also think Marquez will pose a lot more of a threat than many people think he will - he's a real warrior, and an exceptionally clever counter-puncher, which is something Floyd hasn't had to contend with for a very long time if ever; and I'm really looking forward to the fight. As I said before, if you aren't biased, you'd judge him on who he fights after this, not on who he fights in a tune-up. And anyway, I'd far rather watch Floyd-JMM than Cotto-Jennings, even though that was for a belt and Jennings was a Welterweight.

Also, lots of Cotto fans have posted in other threads saying they'd like to see him fight Pac.

Cotto-Pac is a GAY ass matchup..plus Pacquiao wants him at 142?!..HELL NO!.

Cotto can get Mosley, Mayweather, Berto, and Margarito when he gets back..a tune tune up or 2 saying he wins them..and he can retire with a GREAT resume and a GREAT Career..an ATG and a Hall of Famer for sure!..

Pacquiao needs to handle Bradley, Marquez, and run 140 if he ain't tryin to contest in the 147 division!..

          • Cotto has a pretty good fan base. And the biggest reason Floyd is so popular is because of all the eople that want to see him lose and close his big mouth.

Floyd can fill a stadium with more than 100 thousand seats. Cotto can not fill a phone booth.

            • Cotto is simply a very likeable guy and an exciting fighter. As his career goes on and more people realize that, his fan base will grow as well.

floyd couldn't sell tickets against hatton in his own country. hatton did that part for himself, like he's always done

and yeah, if you talk so much ****ty nonsense in person, you'd get the same reaction from me
i think the record was chavez vs haugen in 1993 in the Aztec Stedium with 132,274 people showing up for the fight, granted everyone was there for chavez.

                  • Is boxing dying? M-m-m no...

Two non-American fighters, one of which lost two fights ago and has the less regarded WBO title, and the other one has no title at the time, sell out the arena at once...

P.S. I hope to see Berto fighting some of the top Weloterweights some day...

P.S. and i hope that one of those 12k tickets was bought by Margarito
