I thought Garay was considered hispanic? Im just nitpicking, but hes from Argentina, right?(even if hes white skinned moslty)

and what about Afolabi, that one hispanic guy that got that upset not long ago, Dawson, and G. Jones?

but anyways yea, your point is well made. difference is, the only white American champ is Pavlik. which does matter, we cant pretend nationalism doesnt count for anything.
Ramirez is Hispanic, Garay is white. Argentina has a larger percentage of it's population white than either the US and Canada (people of Spanish European heritage are white).

    from wikipedia:

"Most Argentines are descended from colonial-era settlers and of the 19th and 20th century immigrants from Europe and around 86% of Argentina's population self-identify as of European descent[45]."

I believe of the top fifty pound for pound guys in the world, 1 is a white american. I don't know all of them though so I could be wrong. The one I know is Kelly Pavlik and he's hard to root for after getting his ass handed to him so overwhelmingly by bernard hopkins.

Don't tell me white americans can't fight or don't like to fight.

They do seem to go into mma to a greater degree.

It's because they are prosperous, and their parents steer them in to less risky careers. Jack Dempsey and Rocky Marciano grew up in extremely poor families, boxing was seen as a way out of poverty for them.

And nowadays, black people in America are on average more prosperous too, so that's why we're seeing fewer top African-American boxers. If you have the choice of a better careeer, why risk getting your head beat in and running the risk of brain damage?

Poverty is widespread in Eastern Europe and Asia, so now more of the best fighters are coming from that part of the world.
