What's with all the people acting insulted? Anyone who says sports, boxing in particular doesn't have an ethnic dynamic to it are fooling themselves

Look at Cotto or Trinidad or Pacquiao or whoever, it's a reality, deal with it.
It hasn't been that long, Americans in general will be back on top soon enough. Maybe not in the heavyweight division but from light heavy on down to about lightweight.

this is funny but true. but I think it is because boxing is a poor man's game. and at the moment, most poor ppl are **********. They need this to get themselves out of poverty. I can't imagine White trailer park kids going to boxing gyms.
Why not? Their poor as anyone else.

What boxing needs is more real champions period. The best fighting the best and not ducking anybody. That will be bring glory back to boxing and will inspire young people to be great in the sport.

That is something they cannot do with hispanic or european fighters who dont speak english.
Of the 20 world titles from middleweight to heavyweight, 17 are held by white boxers, 2 by black boxers, and one by a Hispanic boxer.

Sturm, Abraham, Pavlik (2), Bute, Froch, Kessler, Balzsay, Diaconu, Garay, Erdei, Fragomeni, Adamek, Valuev/Chagaev, V. Klitschko, W. Klitschko (2).

The Klitschkos are excellent role models, as are others such as Adamek.

                    that cant be right.
I thought Garay was considered hispanic? Im just nitpicking, but hes from Argentina, right?(even if hes white skinned moslty)

and what about Afolabi, that one hispanic guy that got that upset not long ago, Dawson, and G. Jones?

but anyways yea, your point is well made. difference is, the only white American champ is Pavlik. which does matter, we cant pretend nationalism doesnt count for anything.

Who said they can't? When I was a kid I looked up to Boom Boom Mancini. As a matter of fact my Dad gave me the nickname Boom Boom when I was a kid in honor of him.
