These are the REASONS why FLOYD is fighting JMM now and not Pac.

Why would he be fighting JMM instead of Pac right now?

JMM called Floyd out and JMM and Floyd are ready to fight NOW. So instead of waiting until the end of the year to fight Pac (which is when Pac is scheduled to fight next), Floyd can get in 1 fight now. Floyd can fight JMM and Pac this year.

Pac beat Oscar and Hatton in a more dramatic fashion that Floyd and seemed to get a lot more credit than Floyd despite certain factors that favored Pac and not Floyd, for example: Floyd had to move up and face a healthy Oscar at 154 and wear 10oz gloves. Floyd then faced an undefeated Hatton...with 10oz gloves.
But, it was Pac that knocked out both Oscar and Hatton and in a killer way.
So, this will be used by Arum at the negotiation table. And the media will keep bringing it up.
    So how does Floyd respond?
By going after the Man that some say beat Pac and was never knocked out...JMM, who is also the #2 P4P fighter.
Pac slapped Floyd twice and Floyd wants to slap Pac back with a *****-slap back by knocking out JMM, something Pac hasn't done. If Floyd just schools him that will be a success. Schooling JMM and knocking him out will be the complete package. I noticed Arum, Roach, and Pac weren't too happy that Floyd was fighting JMM. I wonder why?

So, a victory over JMM will help Floyd trash talk against Team Pacquiao and should help him in negotiations by saying look whose scalp I have.
And it will help lure Pac into a fight with Floyd.

    Without JMM, Floyd has fewer chips in his hands and it also leaves Pac the option to fight JMM next instead of him {Floyd}

      your a failure......

I agree with Benny though. If he said screw Pac and went for lets say Mosley. He would be at a disadvantage because he hasn't used that killer instinct in a while, so fighting Mosley would make him end up like Winky-Williams.

Also, let's say he beats Mosley. Now he will NEVER fight Pacquiao. Why? Because he will be dragged into the circle of... Cotto-Mosley-Margarito-Clottey-Williams. Which will never end and will mean he wont ever fight Pacquiao a person who can draw more than ALL of those guys I mentioned. Why? He has the entire Phillipines behind him.

He wont get cred from fans for fighting JMM but majority of fans dont know **** about the business aspect of boxing. Fighting JMM is a good call.

One of the key points is that he is cutting into Pac if he beats JMM, especially by shooling and KO victory. It also gives Pac one less opponent to fight before he retires. Now he is stuck with the "BIG" fights being Floyd, Shane, and Cotto.

If JMM was still there, he could take that bout.

He's figuring an easy win against JMM and wants the money. That's pretty much it, in my opinion.

most of the top ww, mosley/ cotto/ margarito/ williams have been calling out floyd (the self proclaimed true ww champion), ignores them saying they are not prize fighters or cannot draw audience which is total bs. there is no way jmm is a bigger draw than any of the top ww metioned. why comeback and fight a lw when you have legitimate competion in the ww division?

he's picking on the little dudes, you and i know it

it was style and skill of manny, oscar was the same. the guy threw more punches than manny in the first 3 rounds, he tried but he knew he coulnd't do anything about manny. give credit to where its due

hatton was undefeated, but what makes you think that he did not improve after the loss? he was with sr. and said that he was in his best condition more than ever before the fight, the outcome was all manny. again, give credit where its due

But, it was Pac that knocked out both Oscar and Hatton and in a killer way.

well, if he knocks out marquez then i can excuses too right? but i wont, i'm not you. i give full credit to pac's win over hatton/odlh, i give pbf full credit as well for those wins

anyway, wouldn't look past marquez if i were you, if he can carry the weight successful, i think he will pull an upset
