I disagree, although many people believe JMM beat Pac at the end of the day Pac has the win. If Mayweather tried to negotiate saying he beat the man Pac couldnt beat Arum would just say yes he did... because as much as some people hate to admit it Pac has the win on his record.

JMM called Floyd out and JMM and Floyd are ready to fight NOW. So instead of waiting until the end of the year to fight Pac (which is when Pac is scheduled to fight next), Floyd can get in 1 fight now. Floyd can fight JMM and Pac this year.

Pac beat Oscar and Hatton in a more dramatic fashion that Floyd and seemed to get a lot more credit than Floyd despite certain factors that favored Pac and not Floyd, for example: Floyd had to move up and face a healthy Oscar at 154 and wear 10oz gloves. Floyd then faced an undefeated Hatton...with 10oz gloves.
But, it was Pac that knocked out both Oscar and Hatton and in a killer way.
So, this will be used by Arum at the negotiation table. And the media will keep bringing it up.
      So how does Floyd respond?
By going after the Man that some say beat Pac and was never knocked out...JMM, who is also the #2 P4P fighter.
Pac slapped Floyd twice and Floyd wants to slap Pac back with a *****-slap back by knocking out JMM, something Pac hasn't done. If Floyd just schools him that will be a success. Schooling JMM and knocking him out will be the complete package. I noticed Arum, Roach, and Pac weren't too happy that Floyd was fighting JMM. I wonder why?

So, a victory over JMM will help Floyd trash talk against Team Pacquiao and should help him in negotiations by saying look whose scalp I have.
And it will help lure Pac into a fight with Floyd.

      Without JMM, Floyd has fewer chips in his hands and it also leaves Pac the option to fight JMM next instead of him {Floyd}

i see your point...they're valid...the issues lie with floyd's fans that can't see past the smoke and mirrors...

floyd says he doesn't need a tuneup, they believe it

floyd says he's the draw, they believe it

what you and i both believe, he needs a tuneup and he needs more bargaining leverage when it comes to fighting PAC

He didint knock him out, nor did he ever beat him defininitively. If mayweather does that, then YES he does have something over him.

If JMM was still there, he could take that bout.
dont get your hopes up... if jmm can deal with the size disparity and be comfortable at the weight, i give them 50/50

Pac did knock him down 3 times though, and we already know (unless he completely changes) mayweather wont be on the offensive and take JMM out right away. They are both counter punchers so most likely Floyd will win but nothing in the fashion of Pac against Hatton or DLH.

He knocked him down 3 times only for marquez to come back and make the fight a draw, honestly, thats nothing to write home about. Fact is, marquez has suffered 4 knockdowns from pac, but hes also won far more rounds against him. If mayweather schools him and knocks him out, something pac could never do, that means something weather you like it or not, thats bennys point

I agree, even in a hundred years from now, Pac will always have that draw and win against JMM. People will always check all sources and find these people to be delusional.

I get his point I just disagree with it, I think this fight is just a tune up to hype mayweather back up because most of the sports world that doesnt follow boxing has probably forgot about him about now so he just gaining attention back with the 24/7, and picked a top p4p fighter that he should be able to beat handedly and look good against to lay the foundation for a mega fight. The fact that it is JMM is an added i dont think it was a direct attack on pacqiuao.

If on the Pac - Hatton fight Hatton had won Floyd would still be fighting JMM.

in 2013 whitaker will still have that draw with julio cesar chavez.

Hagler will always have that dubious loss to leonard.

hopkins will always have those losses to taylor.

and robinson will always have that loss to joey maxim, but we all know what happened.

i dont know how long you have been following the sport, but that is NOT how it works.

this is a sport where people care about the past. ALOT.
