Cotto became a 147 fighter years ago and now Manny wants full blown welterweight to fight him at a weight that can do damege to his body? **** Manny and his demands. Cotto still has other options like Mosley and if Floyd finds his balls a Cotto vs Mayweather fight.

So the guy who is 5'6 1/2 career featheweight & constantly going up in weight & fighting bigger guys is a b*tch, but the guy who has a much larger frame, taller, younger, & has 7 fights at 147, 27 fights at 140 (where Pacquiao is fighting) & is not even willing to meet him halfway is not a b*tch?

but the catchweight for all these fight were fair not to the point were one fighter would be so weight drain that the fighter will lose speed power and energy they still could do somthing in the ring unlike what Pac wants.you know when a fighter is affected by going down in weight not to be confuse by a fighter that just doesnt have in him becaues of ring years like Trinidad
First of all Lalonde was weight drained against Ray Leonard. And Wright lost his speed and power by moving too far up in weight to fight Hopkins. Arguably, Pavlik too.

Second, if Cotto thinks he'd be weight drained at 142 or 144, he can just say no to the fight. Which is what he's done. No one is forcing him to take the fight. It's not a problem.

Pacquiao already had a fight at 145 last year vs Oscar De La hoya and he look pretty good. The last time Cotto was at 140 was 2006 and he drain his body just to make weight. Is a lot easier to go up than go down in weight so asking a natural welterweight to go to 140 is as ***** move.

            exactly brah.

nobody is putting a gun to cotto's head. If he doesnt want to be fair & meet Pacquiao halfway then he doesnt have to have a mega fight vs Pacquiao. He can rematch mosley, clottey, fight cintron, berto, if cotto has the pair, fight paul williams.

If he thinks he'd be weight drained at 142, do you really want him to take the fight at that weight? I wouldn't pay to watch a weight drained fighter, in fact I wouldn't watch a weight drained fighter even if I was being paid to watch it. To me that's not what boxing should be about.

Having said that, I don't see why either of them are "bitches". If Cotto doesn't think he can fight below 145, he can just say no, which he has done. If Pac doesn't want to fight above 142, that's fine, he can fight someone else. No one's forcing either of them to take the fight, so I don't see the problem.

              • Good cuz it's not Cotto that ever called out or even wanted to fight Pacyaow. He just said he would when asked and it's Pacyaow who is going to go watch him fight. Pacyaow is the interested party here. Pacyaow must agree to Cottos demands.

                  1) roach said the dlh fight at 147 was a ONE time deal
                  2) pac officially weighed 138 lbs against hatton just a few weeks ago. when was the last time cotto officially weighed 138 lbs???
                  3) roach never intended for pac to campaign at WW
                  4) unless cotto agrees to 142, this fight shouldn't even be discussed.
                  5) Cotto is a MW on fight night and Pac is a WW on fight night. IS THAT FAIR???

i dont remember cotto losing a fight because he was weight drained. Its only used as a excuse by insane bloggers to justify their thinking. Pacquiao weighed in at 142 for a welterweight fight. He rehydrated to 148 on fight night.

regular welters weigh in at 147 rehydrate to 155-160. who's being unfair & b*tching here?
