I think it speaks volumes that I don't see a lot of griping on this thread about Cotto fighting a "smaller" guy the way so many haters gripe about Mayweather fighting a "smaller" fighter. No one is calling Cotto names for not stepping up to fight Mosley again or Paul Williams.

It's a one-off for him, not a pattern - he's already fought several top Welters, inlcluding Mosley, Marg, Quintana and Judah, and will fight lots more, including Clottey in June. And Mosley had the chance to fight him instead of Clottey but didn't want to take the fight because it would have been in New York. And Cotto is fighting Clottey, the Welterweight all the other Welters had been avoiding.

On the other hand Mayweather hasn't yet defended his lineal Welterweight title against a single Welterweight.

So no, it speaks volumes about you that you can't see the difference between Cotto's record of fighting other Welterweights and Mayweather's record of not fighting them.
