Good Desicion
Cotto cant not get down to that weight because the body over time asks for more not less. If Pacquiao is so special and the best pound for pound? Why does not rise to the 147? As I said earlier that Roach doest not want to fight with Cotto at 147, with De la Hoya if, but never with the Puerto Rican. The reason is simple. If you are able to dehydrate Cotto for the day of weighing the body of Cotto is going to suffer and to fight (being 30 hours later) will not be able to recover. But at 147 to Cotto will not affect and can enter the fight with 156-157 lbs. Pacquiao is not a thing that suits him. Look at the fights against Pac rates of 126-130 weight good. Marquez as I won it in those weights like Morales. Cotto is too much for that Pac in welter and hes corner now.

Find that link yet?
To add, asking a fighter to fight a hell of a lot higher than their natural weight is dangerous. If you don't want to level the playing field, then don't call out fighters smaller than you.
And Cotto has never called out Pac - first Arum and then Pac's adviser Salud said they wanted Pac to fight Cotto next.Last edited by Dave Rado; 05-20-2009, 02:46 PM.

In the De La Hoya fight, the weight was effectively a catchweight between Pac's natural weight and DLH's natural weight, because DLH was moving down, so that fight is a red herring and you know it.
But he shouldn't be making fights with Welterweights if he doesn't want to fight at Welterweight, he should fight Marquez or Bradley.Last edited by Dave Rado; 05-20-2009, 02:33 PM.

pacqiao knows better than to fight cotto at 145 or 147. he would have a better chance of beating him at 142. cotto's body couldn't handle that weight anymore.

If he doesn't want to fight Cotto he should tell his advisers to stop calling for a Cotto fight. If he does want to fight Cotto, it should be at 147.
