If im not mistaken all ATG's jumped weight clases to face the best , you want to prove your the best do what you gotta do and make it up there but roach is still riding on the DLH fight and now will only let Manny face WW if he can manipulate the outcome through the weight process . Hey theres no need for that if you already fought at the weight and looked great than try to achive even greater status but dont reduce yourself or let anybody reduce you to a non-competitive level by not chosing the fights that you know are hard.

it's simple. cotto will have a considerable weight advantage on fight night as cotto is a MW on fightnight and pac is a WW on fight night.

therefore a catchweight of 142 lbs is justified to equalize the weight advantage cotto has.

if cotto can officially get down to 38 lbs its a fair fight. if cotto can't officially get down to 38 lbs its not a fair fight. if it's not a fair fight, then there needs to be some way to equalize cotto's weight advantage on fight night and that is the catchweight.

Manny vs Cotto is a great fight but its not like Pac has to fight these WW guys he has plenty of smaller oppenents desperate for a shot that make for good fights and with or without Pac the WW division is still pretty hot Cotto can just go on whipping ass at 147

Manny is an ATG his accomplishments and record speak for its self but i do think this thing isnt right, he should either admit im too small to fight these guys and stay put OR move up and throw the dice. I mean we know HE performs well at 147 even if his foe was a zombie, Pacs speed, energy and power were still there.

pac fighting dlh was a 1 time deal, roach said it himself.

all you got to know is that cotto is a MW on fight night and Pac is a WW on fight night. that just goes to show that cotto has a big weight advantage and the only way to equalize that weight advantage is for there to be an official catchweight of 142 lbs.
