Should Marquez back out of the Mayweather fight?

The bottom line is that Marquez knows that he is in the twilight of his career and he is mostly taking this fight for the money. He won't back out because of the weight. If they cut his pay, that would be a whole different story.

The word that I used was "mostly". That would apply to 99% of all fighters who have already reached the championship level and are near the end of their careers.

You don't see the difference between a guy that was p4p #1 last year and a guy that hasn't been #1 p4p for TEN years?

i'm pissed off for marquez.
marquez got totally screwed. he got screwed when it was at 144.
he should have just waited after pac-hatton. he would have had leverage playing floyd and pac camps against each other for at least more money.
All he had to do was say.... nnnoooooooooooo.

To answer the original question. No! Why because JMM has every excuse in the world and is in a no lose situation.
here are some scenarios
Floyd Dominates and KO's him...JMM looses no points since everyone will say he was a career 126lb that just recently fought at lightweight.
Floyd UD's....JMM gains some respect for putting up a fight and going the distance.
Floyd wins SD...this is a victory for Marquez for defining the odds, going up in weight and making it close.
JMM win....ATG status
This is a high reward no risk fight for Marquez because Floyd isn't the type of fighter that will hurt him severly but just outbox and outclass him.

The difference i see is in that DLH called out Pac and dangled the biggest payday of his life, as apposed to Marquez who called out Mayweather and is willing to fight whenever wherever for his biggest payday, people are acting like Marquez aint ****, but this is will be the toughest fight Mayweather has had in some time.
