  • Should Marquez back out of the Mayweather fight?

With news that Mayweather-Marquez is no longer at a catchweight of 144 (like 144 was fair for a guy who has fought his entire life practically at 126) and is now at 147 , should Juan Manuel back out if he can?

I don't know the details of their contract so I don't even know it is possible to back out but if he could , should he?

I think Golden Boy Promotions sold Marquez out tbh. If he can back out I'm sure he can get a better deal to fight Pacquiao for a 3rd match instead or at the very least maybe he can get more money for fighting Mayweather. I think Arum/Roach wouldn't mind fighting Marquez before Mayweather.

      I know he won't.

      Marquez has balls.

I'm just saying if he could , should he?

I think he can get a better deal from a Pacquiao fight. Plus it has the rivalry thing going for him and he has a better chance of beating Pacquiao than Mayweather.

Also , it can be for a Junior Welterweight lineal/ring title.

Why back out. Pacquiao went up 2 weight divisions to fight Oscar.

Oscar went down at least 1 for Pacquiao.

He can probably get a better deal now from Pacquiao too.

I'm sure Arum and Roach would rather fight Marquez first before Mayweather.

It'll be an easier fight for Marquez against Pacquiao compared to Mayweather imo plus it could be for 140 lineal/ring title.

these two fighters are almost the same damn size... granted floyd is a little bigger... the difference between pac and oscar was ridiculous
