yea, people always want to see a guy lose/get KTFO.

Unlucky for some that didn't happen to Calzaghe.

I love the fact that it eats most people up inside

Yeah, but if people would just take quiet satisfaction from knowing those who resent Joe -- because they don't like his face, or he's a Eurobum, or he talks funny -- will be forever frustrated and just stick to the point when standing by their boy instead of smugly parading that ****** fairweather "UNDEFEATED" ****e, that would be much cooler.

When I think of Joe's accomplishments, I don't even really think about the "0".

I bet.... Mayweathers the same. People get all worked up about him and his money yet they pay EVERYTIME he fights just so they could see him lose. He hasnt lost and yet they keep paying to see him lose then get mad and blame everyone/everything else! I would pissed too lol

My thing is I just wish Joe would have left Frank 10 years ago and came over a lot sooner than he did. O well....

But that is the ONLY thing I see other than a GREAT win over Kessler and Lacy.

Which who are they? I mean old man Eubank, Hop and Jones are good too

I'm not hating just saying. But again like my comment I wish Joe would have came over to the states 10 years ago.

Again, this notion that accomplishments aren't accomplishments if they're not ATG level is wrongheaded.

His win over old Eubank is underrated by many. There are some solid pre-Lacy defences in his run, among the ****ty ones. It isn't just that he beat -- admittedly overrated, but still threatening and heavily favored -- Lacy, it's the manner in which he beat the brakes off him and clearly ruined him. He boxed the ears off a technically excellent and dangerous Mikkel Kessler (who hopefully will yet prove to be of even more worth to Joe's CV). That version of Hopkins, as ****ty looking and ultimately anti-climactic as the fight was, is another verrrry solid "W" on the ledger.

(Roy Jones Jr. 2008 was just a showcase, I don't rate it at all - I rate it less than Reid, Sheika, Woodhall, Brewer, Mitchell, even Bika, to be brutally honest)

They only become questionable accomplishments when people start overstating the significance of his "0" and Joe's overall standing in the annals of great fighters.

It's like Ali back in the 1970's.

Ken Norton is quoted as saying "Ali back then WAS boxing, When you got to fight him, even if you lost, it was good for your name. Some people were fans of Ali, some people wanted to see him lose, regardless you watched him".

How does this relate to calzaghe fighting doormen, binmen, roadsweepers and the elderly for a portion of his reign of terror?
