Joe Calzaghe Would Continue if Knocked Out Like Hatton

Its also funny how revisionist historians compare Jones and Calzaghe as if they were in the same position. Jones was American, HBO golden boy on PPV every fight and could have picked anyone in the world to fight. Calzaghe, like Bernard Hopkins, was in obscurity for yearsComment

Joe Calzaghe.......... wasnt he the guy who didnt show his face in the 90's when he was prime? I dont recall him ever stepping up and fighting prime P4P fighters like Hatton has done now (twice)....
Who cares about fighting the best though..... when you retire undefeated you're the all time greatest best ever.
Joe did fight Lacy, Kessler and Manfredo. All young PRIME P4P BEST in the world....... Ask anyone! They were the BEST and Joe spanked them all!
Joe Calzaghe is the better than Ali because of this. I think Hatton should listen to Joe. He knows best, he fought better fighters while never getting knocked out......
GO JOE!Comment

No, you're right. Honestly, I really don't care. Not all fights happen, for a plethora of reasons. But I've always been a big fan of the sport--and I know quite well that Calzaghe wasn't being "ducked" by Jones. Maybe Ottke. Who knows? Who cares? Their careers are over and their legacies are what they are. I don't think anyone would argue against Calzaghe marching into the HOF on the first ballot.Comment

Also funny how revisionist historians compare Joe to Ricky Hatton. Hatton was promoted ahead of Calzaghe by Frank Warren because of his personality and ability to sell tickets. Calzaghe was never (even now) the same financial meal ticket to Jones that Hatton was to the likes of Mayweather and Pacquiao.
Please come up with parelles that actually make sense.Comment

Not only do you spread bull**** about Calzaghe, but now you're trying to do the same with me. I've posted in four different threads so far. This is my fourth post out of 9.
You've got some serious insecurity and integrity issues going on, son. It's time you submit.Comment

I posted way back in this thread that Hatton fought and lost to better fighters then Calzaghe has ever faced and the Calzaghe fans stepped in and it went from there like it usually does. Everyone then goes on to think they're right and these Calzaghe threads seem to go on forever.
All in good fun though.Comment
