The Big American Athletes just don't go into boxing anymore. They look for the greater opportunity elsewhere.
But there may be something to the "gone soft" comment because Americans may have gone soft over the years. I blame the hippie movement and the feminists. A "Depression" would probably help actually toughen the Americans back up like it did prior to WW II, which I think helped prepare that Generation for that War and the World at that time.



American HWs are a joke. They shouldn't even be discussed. I'm looking at Tunney's list right now to see what the rest of the World has to offer.

Boxing in general is pretty dead in America compared to back in the day. It's not like back in the day when you had loads of gyms and ****** kids only having opportunity to make a living by going into boxing. Different life now; many more opportunities in life and in sports.


Plus, you can't go by that pussified version of boxing in the amteur system. That's not BOXING. Get back to the Original way of amateur fighting and we will have better prepared Pro fighters.

Lewis cheated a lot in that fight, and the referee didn't do anything about it.

Lennox held Vitali's arm and used his 4" reach advantage to repeatedly hit him in the kidneys. You can hear the thuds when watching the video. After the cut, Lewis rubbed his glove into Vitali's face and twisted it, to worsen the wound.

And I never did see the punch that caused the initial cut, but I did see a headbutt from Lennox. That would mead a TD win for Vitali...

As far as I'm concerned, VITALI WON THAT FIGHT.

This has already been discussed about boxing in America.

You wouldn't no because you don't READ or pay attention to many factors that influence things in life.

Things change. They changed in America and it's a different way of life.

Many documentaries on this as well. They used to show on ESPN classics.

Go look things up for yourself with the way things changed if you don't live here or can't talk to Old-Timers.
